As little as possible - bloody love Sundays! Lie in. Dog walk. Lazy breakfast/lunch/brunch. Generally a bit of pottering. Today I have been lying through in the sun in my back sitting room looking at brochures for my new shower room, while my partner has been watching football. Great chilled, relaxed day.

CoralDaffodil · 20/03/2022 15:57

It tends to be a relatively relaxed lazy day for us! I normally make sure the washing is done before Monday. We often go to the park spend lots time with my DS before another week of nursery. Often have a short walk and then go back home and have a roast. In a way it’s my favourite day of the week.

I love Sundays my favourite day of the week , when I was younger I thought they were boring.
I usually go for a run Sunday morning then I come home make a Sunday brunch do some cleaning . / washing / Pottering about . I’ll sometimes see my mum or we’ll see inlaws for Sunday dinner or I’ll cook a roast or lasagna finished off with some wine . Then get the dc bath and bed and me and dh will catch up with some tv . Lovely chilled day at home.

HereComesTheMum · 20/03/2022 16:17

It’s ‘football Sunday’ here, but I work very hard to then make it not about jobs, which is really hard as we have so much to do and so little time!

Today both boys an hour away in opposite directions. So we take one each and alternate. I picked up some food for a dinner, and DH painted a skirting, did laundry and mowed the lawn.

I’ve put dinner on (DS2 for MOTM so his choice, lasagne - gutted I wanted yorkies!), picked up on the laundry and then DH has been watching the race, I’ve been reading my book, and the kids are gaming.

It takes a lot of effort not to do meal planning or something, but I’ve realised I am more productive in the week if I don’t run around like a headless chicken 24/7!

JustDanceAddict · 20/03/2022 16:25

It varies.
Only one dc at home now and he’s either at his p/t job or revising! Even if he goes out it’s with friends.
So…
Usually get up past 9am and it’s a usually one of:
Go for walk/lunch w dh or a friend
Chores - washing, cleaning etc
Dh might see his mum or she might come round
V occasionally have a ‘couple’ arrangement like a friend’s bday thing or family function.
If we’re both in, watch tv after dinner

I have always hated Sundays and still do. Not sure what it is but they have a completely different feel to them and I don't like it. I could tell if it was a Sunday even if I didn't actually know.

I'd much prefer to work Sundays and have a day off in the week but that's not possible.

Today I've finished assembling some flat pack furniture and lazed around.

Mind you, we get a puppy on Thursday so lazy Sundays might be a thing of the past 😁

CMOTDibbler · 20/03/2022 17:06

Up at 8, take ds to his sport and now I help coach/supervise others during that time. Back by 12, take the dogs out for a long walk with dh, then I usually do some college work for a couple of hours. Sometimes I go to the pool to swim in the late afternoon and I need to pick that up again.

InFiveMins · 20/03/2022 17:15

We generally always have a really lazy day on a Sunday - a lie in, a nice breakfast, read, catch up on Netflix. Always have a roast dinner on a Sunday as well - it's my favourite meal of the week and I actually look forward to making it as I shut myself away in the kitchen and have a few glasses of wine. We tend to settle down early and often find we're ready for bed by 9:30pm!

TirednessButHappiness · 20/03/2022 17:56

We have a bit of a lie-in. The kids get in our bed to watch tv while we doze then have coffee & biscuits in bed.

Usually get them a game or activity while I get things organised such as sorting laundry etc.

Light lunch then do school reading while food goes down.

Try to get out to park if possible.

Baths for kids by DH while I make roast.

Dinner then quiet time then kids to bed.

We usually watch a film on Sunday nights but the rule is not to watch anything depressing! Often have hot chocolate or a bar of chocolate with the film.

hellcatspangle · 20/03/2022 17:58

Usually involve a country walk followed by a nice Sunday roast out. My preference is then to get home, have a shower and get into clean pyjamas for an afternoon nap. Evenings are spent watching tv.

maddy68 · 20/03/2022 17:58

Bit of a lie in.

Walk down to the beach and have a coffee. Walk along the promanade then go for lunch (usually meet friends ) little afternoon snooze. TV in the evening

Lincslady53 · 20/03/2022 18:03

To avoid the Urgh Monday feeling change to a job that you like. 35 years ago, I often dreaded going to work on Monday, so we sold up, moved to a cheaper area of the country, opened our own business and can honestly say I did not dread going into work for the rest of my working life. Don't get me wrong, I obviously had days when I would rather be doing something else, but that dread feeling at having to deal with other peoples problems was gone forever. Financially I would probably have been better to have stayed, but we adjusted our lives to suit and it has been good.

ImInStealthMode · 20/03/2022 18:08

No DC here so on Sundays we do absolutely nothing, unless we particularly feel like doing something.

Saturdays are Parkrun, sometimes work for me, housework, shopping, various errands, appointments, often plans in the evening with friends.

Sundays are kept entirely free from plans.

HelloKittyGirl · 20/03/2022 18:12

I haven’t toddler and find Sundays really hard to be honest. Can’t have a lie in, can’t just laze around with feet up and there are no activities on like there are in the week. Soft plays and playgrounds aren’t even a great option as they’re full of big children who trample all over her.

HelloKittyGirl · 20/03/2022 18:12

Highlandrainbows · 20/03/2022 18:17

Ah Sundays are our busy weekend days. Up a hill usually, or somewhere out in nature, all day with a picnic.

Saturdays are our Sunday, it just works better that way: DDs and I do the food shop, DW does meal prep whilst I take DDs on a nature walk with the dogs and then we chill/veg all afternoon until family arrives for a nice dinner (or we go to them).

crispmidnightpeace · 20/03/2022 18:17

Yes, that feeling marred my life so I started working from home as a sole trader in the job I was doing, this was in 2015. I never looked back. I love not having an employer and Sundays are just like any other day for me. I'm not wealthy but I love my life and I swear this is mainly down to freedom from employment.

Do you want to live the rest of your life with this feeling? I was 33 when I got out but that was too long.

Sundays we usually go swimming in the morning at the local centre but aside from that it's just another day that I enjoy.

You should get out of the 9 - 5 if you hate it.

Savvysix1984 · 20/03/2022 18:20

I love Sundays (don't work Monday though!) so it's a chill day in our house. Today, lie in then met friends at park for an ice cream. Sunday dinner with my parents and dsis and kids. Kids got into hot tub and we had a few drinks in the sun.

ClariceQuiff · 20/03/2022 18:20

Usually go for a walk in the afternoon if weather is reasonable. Roast dinner in the evening. Lazing around. We are childfree so we can do what we like.

Whoopsies · 20/03/2022 18:24

We get up, both DH and I take it in turns to do a workout, DH does the weekly shop, then we go visit his Nan (she's everyone's favourite person in the world so we go every week without fail!) Come home, then homework and chill out, today has been in the garden mostly.

lollipoprainbow · 20/03/2022 18:25

Feel depressed !! I loathe Sunday's always have.

GreenNewDealNow · 20/03/2022 18:32

Have a revolution and overthrow capitalism :)

Eueike · 20/03/2022 18:37

We play catch catch with the balls and we have a DIY swing (a piece of wood tied with a rope) which we take everywhere to the woods, tie it to a tree and have lots of fun. Kids are 6,4 and 1.

HappyDays40 · 20/03/2022 18:45

Go to church, take kid to the park, drink beer .

Shostaklovhich · 20/03/2022 18:50

Usually wake up early, do some bits and pieces, tidying, sorting. Teen dc doesn’t usually appear until gone 10am, and usually does not want to go out or spend time out with me in case someone she knows sees her - shudder at the thought!! So I take the ddog for a long walk, clean and potter a bit in the afternoon, long soak in the bath, watch a movie, play a board game with dd, that kind of thing. Very low key. I try not to think too much about Monday morning but I like my job so it’s fine.
