Orm about drinking coffee and listening to the Archers.. I really should get cracking on lesson planning and essay writing!

stairgates · 20/03/2022 10:45

Laundry all day usually and a roast dinner, probably the worst day of the week for me.

Lovinglife45 · 20/03/2022 10:47

Cook a roast dinner
Iron school uniforms
Pack bags for work and school
Polish shoes
Nap (at least two hours)

Pyjamagame · 20/03/2022 10:47

Not too much. I go to church sometimes. The kids have sailing, which at this time of year means indoor swimming. All reconvene for lunch and then if weather's nice we'll go out for a stomp or do some gardening or dump runs. If bad weather we'll cosy up for family games and a film and I'll get the ironing done.

notacooldad · 20/03/2022 10:47

Either work or go hiking or cycling.
If it's my long weekend off go away for the weekend.

gingerhills · 20/03/2022 10:55

Usually we have croissants and fresh coffee for breakfast, then go for a walk if it's fine, or work in the garden, or go out to visit friends or host friends. Often cook a Sunday roast or do some baking. This week none of this as I have a horrendous cold that won't go away and am so knackered from coughing and sneezing that it's just Netflix all day.

WouldYouIo · 20/03/2022 10:59

Get school stuff ready for dc who go to school
Plan the weeks work for dc who are home educated
Plan activities for the toddler and baby

Meal plan / Meal prep and Make a roast

Maybe pop to park or for a walk

Do washing and cleaning (I always deep clean kitchen, wash bedding and dust house on a Sunday)

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 20/03/2022 11:04

Bloody laundry.

Gonnagetgoing · 20/03/2022 11:07

Today I’m making a birthday cake for my SIL and then going to DM’s and we’re all off out for lunch and a walk.

Other Sunday’s - depends - can see boyfriend for lunch, movie out, walk, see his family. See friends. Do things in house which need doing.

Moonface123 · 20/03/2022 11:15

I work weekends part time, just got back , youngest is still at his part time job and eldest is over his girlfriends, so l have the house to myself and can choose what l want to do,.probably do abit in the garden after my coffee and snack.
l don' t really get the monday feeling as l am off for two days mid week, which l love, everywhere is much quieter and in the summer l can enjoy my garden in peace.

SookieHouseboat · 20/03/2022 11:17

I gave up working Mondays. Now I never have that ugh feeling.

I’ll get my coat.

PinkiOcelot · 20/03/2022 11:20

Washing and cleaning most of the day for me. I hate Sundays. Would love a lazy day.

VampireMoney · 20/03/2022 11:32

It's different every week for us, depends what we fancy. Some weeks we go food shopping, others we go into town, some times we stay home and do feck all, sometimes a long walk with the dogs. Don't often do a Sunday roast, however this week I'm doing a roast chicken and tidying up the garden while DC play Roblox.

The only thing I do every Sunday is plan for the week of homeschooling, and check my freelancing schedule for the week.

georgarina · 20/03/2022 11:35

We normally do our weekly shop, take it home, have lunch and then go out - zoo, park, local kids' farm etc. Or if there's something we need to do like haircuts we'll do it in the afternoon.

AuntieMarys · 20/03/2022 11:37

If dh isn't working we go out somewhere for Sunday lunch about 4 after a 3-4 hour walk.
If he is and I'm on my own, I do a spin class, go for coffee/ brunch and then read.

Benes · 20/03/2022 12:27

I usually get a lie in while DH takes DS to his football match. Then I'll go for a run and cook an early Sunday lunch when I get back.

We then meet friends for drinks either at one of our houses or at a local pub - the venue changes each week but we alway meet at 3pm on the dot! We have a few drinks and sometimes order food and then it's home for 7ish to get ready for the week.

It's one of my favourite days as we have such a laugh. If I'm having a tough week I know I've always got Sunday to look forward to.

Eggsley · 20/03/2022 14:00

We don't really have a set routine - today DH is at the football all afternoon/evening so I've had a really lazy morning doing nothing. Just made lunch. DS1 is gaming and DS2 has been helping me. I don't get much time in the house without DH as he's a SAHD so I like to potter and wash towels/change beds, do a bit of cleaning.

If DH is here we usually go out for a walk or over to my parents.

I'm trying to shake off an awful cold so not planning to do much this afternoon, I need a rest!

AledsiPad · 20/03/2022 14:08

Sunday mornings are a lie in for me (if I manage to stay in bed) whilst DH goes to play golf. I get up around 9am, strip the bed, put some laundry on, clean the kitchen & the lounge. By then, DH comes back so we get the DC to get dressed (they like to stay in PJs eating breakfast and watching TV on Sunday mornings) ready to take the dog for a walk.

We go for a good hour long walk usually, sometimes driving somewhere nice to do a new one, or down to the beach. When we get back I cook a roast dinner, or some variation if it's too hot. Today we're having slow roasted beef and yorkshire puddings, with roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, braised red cabbage and honey roasted carrots. Whilst I'm cooking, DH cleans our bedroom, makes the bed and cleans the bathroom. DC do their own rooms.

After dinner we try to spend some time all together playing a board game or similar. Then baths/showers ready for the week.

I always have a bath on a Sunday night and take my iPad in to watch something in the bath. The thought of that hour alone keeps me sane all week!

Mostly, we don't "do" too much - we don't go to meet anyone, or do activities etc because we prefer to not be rushed. DH's golf is always early morning so he's back before lunch time for this reason also.

thepeopleversuswork · 20/03/2022 14:11

Reading with interest as I find doing nothing incredibly hard and need some advice (and probably therapy). Need to get better at "lazy" days as I'm not good at relaxing but honestly the thought of lying in bed or in front of the tv all day brings me out in hives.

peboh · 20/03/2022 14:12

Sundays are my organising day.
Any housework that's been missed during the week gets done, any food prep for the week. Food shopping, nursery uniform washed and organised, bag packed for the week, and just general life admin. If I don't do these things on a Sunday, my Monday just feels so stressful. Saturday is our day of pottering/activities etc.

DementedPanda · 20/03/2022 14:20

I usually take youngest ds to his football match. They are a great team and parents are fab so I love going to watch and have a chat. Dh stays home with oldest ds and irons the uniforms for the week ahead. When I get back I start the roast for tea, the dc play out with friends and we sometimes have a couple if drinks with tea.

neverbeenskiing · 20/03/2022 14:57

We don't have a set routine really but today has been a fairly typical sunday. This morning we had breakfast together then went to the garden centre to buy some plants. When we got home DH cooked lunch while I played a game with the DC. After lunch he mowed the lawn while I got the DC's school uniforms sorted for the week. DD (8) has swimming in a bit so DH will take her and DS (3) and I will probably play in the garden or walk up to the park. Then tea, bath time and bed for the kids. Once they're settled I'll walk to the pub (10 minutes away) to meet a couple of friends for a drink. I don't work Mondays so am lucky I don't have the Sunday night feeling of dread anymore!

SartresSoul · 20/03/2022 15:05

Junior park run at 9am followed by swimming almost every Sunday without fail. Sometimes we go for a walk to a nature reserve or NT place in the afternoon, other days like today we do the gardening or any jobs around the house. Evening DC bath and get school stuff ready.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 20/03/2022 15:19

normally out for a walk of some kind. an hour in the park at least, sometime drive further afield with a picnic for longer walk if it's dry.
Spot of luxury cooking - making a lasagne or a roast or something that takes a couple of hours pottering, with pudding.
every few weeks we'll go and watch a concert in town. one of the orchestras often plays at 16.00 on a Sunday, which is really nice timing. Late enough to still have most of the day before we go, early enough to be home for dinner and getting ready for the week.

However I fell and sprained my ankle yesterday. So today I'm feet up on the sofa, and alternating MNing with catching up on a few work notes, while I have one eye on the FA cup game on telly
< yes Raheem>

solvendie · 20/03/2022 15:43

I love Sundays. Sunday morning is a long walk with the dog, back home to clean the kitchen floor, batch cooking for the rest of the week and watching Saturday Kitchen while snacking on a variety of food (or A roast dinner) with a glass of wine. Bliss.
