Just that really? We are still having to wear masks all day in work...anyone else?

OP posts:
VainAbigail · 12/03/2022 19:57

And I’m not hospital but domiciliary care.

MakkaPakkas · 12/03/2022 19:58

Ours are 'recommending' them

NothingIsWrong · 12/03/2022 19:58

Yes. Public sector, wearing to walk around the building.

Have to confess that generally there are not many people in and when I was on my own last week I didn't put one on to go to the loo, 10 yards away.

Notbluepeter · 12/03/2022 20:10

Yes, in Scotland. Have to wear one when moving around the office but not when seated.

ipodtherforipoor · 12/03/2022 20:10

Mask on when moving around the office, off at desk and in meetings. Masks on when with vulnerable people so when I'm assessing children with disabilities I wear mask. We can only go to an office if we book a desk and it is agreed by manager. Working from home still in place with visits to homes and schools taking place.

IggyAce · 12/03/2022 20:12

I work in a primary school and we have never worn them.

Roselilly36 · 12/03/2022 20:12

We visited a chain restaurant last Thursday, I felt so sorry for the staff still having to wear masks, when none of their customers were,

Cornishmumofone · 12/03/2022 20:12

Yes. I work in a university

Gingernaut · 12/03/2022 20:15

Yes. NHS.

Working in a call centre, we have plastic guards around all our desks.

We shout at each other through at least two layers of plastic.

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 12/03/2022 20:17

Yes, civil service in Northern Ireland

GreenNewDealNow · 12/03/2022 22:05

Just warning you all you and your colleagues are likely to get Covid once masks are no longer worn. I have it now and so do many of my colleagues having avoided it the last 2 years.

WLAH · 12/03/2022 22:08

Yes

Rayna37 · 12/03/2022 22:11

Yes, large factory site. Technically meant to be wearing one at all times even outside. In practice, at my desk and with a drink next to me...

I know of different companies same industry where this is also the case. Never had to do regular LFTs though, just temperature checks.

hemhem · 12/03/2022 22:19

I work in ptofessional services and everyone in our office is still wearing masks in all open plan parts of the office. We can take them off in meeting rooms and when sat at our desks only.

Fabtasticfanatic · 12/03/2022 22:21

Yes I work in a university. Our numbers of positive cases among staff in my department are higher than they have been at any point. Cases in my kid's school are also as high as they have ever been, although they aren't putting in place any measures to reduce the spread. People may not be getting very sick with covid but it is certainly causing a huge amount of disruption.

MidnightsFoodbowl · 12/03/2022 22:42

Yes, work on a manufacturing site. Our rule is 'if you get up (from your desk) or meet up, then mask up', we're having another spate of Covid at the moment, so seems justified.

MissyGez · 12/03/2022 22:49

Yes, non-clinical NHS working in a local authority building

autienotnaughty · 12/03/2022 22:50

Yes council office. To lead by example apparently.

Desiredeffect · 12/03/2022 23:11

I have left adult social care and had to wear one there at all times. Now in children's social care and won't have to wear one at all or lft tests

Thursday37 · 12/03/2022 23:16

Yes, it’s not mandatory but strongly encouraged- I’m in HE.
We don’t have to wear in our own office but when walking around campus or communal areas we do.
Students aren’t complying but staff are.

TheRealityCheque · 12/03/2022 23:26

I'm amazed anyone is playing this daft game anymore.

It's now a mild-moderate cold in terms of symptoms for 99.99% of people.

Fewer people are dying of it than normally do of flu. Time to completely knock this nonsense on the head everywhere

Picklesandbeans · 12/03/2022 23:28

Yes - teacher in special school.

HellsAngel81 · 12/03/2022 23:57

Yes! I work in a vets, and it has been our company's policy since the beginning of Covid.
I personally can't wait to ditch them, although that is unlikely for a long time unfortunately Sad

I no longer wear one outside of work.

EarringsandLipstick · 13/03/2022 03:36

Yes, university.

I have been continuing to wear one personally too, when out, but so few people are that I'm doing so less. Still wearing one in the supermarket & similar places but I'm one of the very few. I'm in Ireland, compulsory mask wearing was only lifted two weeks ago, and I'm surprised at how many aren't wearing one.

mycatisannoying · 13/03/2022 03:49

Yes. School in Scotland.
