Pay rises

flounfer · 11/03/2022 12:40

Hopefully this won't come across as insensitive but I am wondering what pay rises if any people are expecting this year? On the one hand we are told it will make inflation worse but then bankers have had record bonuses & Ive seen some posts on here taking about double digit % pay rises. Mine is 2%, better than nothing obviously but not much help.

Insulting 1.75 % local authority and that's last year's so will be backdated, won't see any it with the increase in ni etc. They will start looking at this year's pay review may most likely to pay this time next year ,😡.

WeBurnedSoBrightWeBurnedOut · 11/03/2022 16:04

About 5.5%

Sunbird24 · 11/03/2022 16:06

Nothing. No pay rise, no bonuses.

FreakinFrankNFurter · 11/03/2022 16:07

I'll be moving up a payband which is about 5% I think. That will put me on band 3 of 4. Don't know what cost of living increase we'll receive. Probably 2%.
It'll probably be June before its sorted and then August before it's paid in, like normal!

Heyahun · 11/03/2022 16:08

5%

GeneLovesJezebel · 11/03/2022 16:09

Nothing for me, and mileage isn’t going up either.

Sunshinedreaming2022 · 11/03/2022 16:09

My employer likes to be seems as paying above the living wage. All by 5p so I believe living wage is going from 9.50 to 9.90 so I imagine I’ll go from 9.55 to 9.95. So effectively 4%.

KatherineofGaunt · 11/03/2022 16:12

Public sector teacher, so not expecting one. I'm top of the non-leadership payscale so no more money for me unless I leave teaching (very few leadership positions in my area of expertise). I'm the sole earner in our household. It's very worrying.

Still at least the MPs got their pay rise, right?

Fluffruff · 11/03/2022 16:15

Nothing. DH just got a 10% one.

JaffaCakeGal · 11/03/2022 16:17

I never work in the kind of places that give pay rises!

Troublesometooth · 11/03/2022 16:21

Minimum wage is going up 9% so many businesses will struggle to pay staff. I know our playgroup is really going to struggle with the new pay amount and NI increases.

catsandquails · 11/03/2022 16:22

My pay will go up in April but only because it's currently below the new minimum wage.

Crabwoman · 11/03/2022 16:30

Local Government. I think the 2021 pay award it is 1.75% but the unions have been balloting on it since early last year and it still hasn't actually been paid yet 🤨
I expect 0% for the upcoming financial year.

The only option for any significant payrise for me is to move up the ladder.

wobytide · 11/03/2022 16:52

4% rise, 20% bonus but know I'm in a very fortunate position with a seemingly decent employer finally

Peccary · 11/03/2022 17:01

Expecting about 10% personally as I have asked for an increase to bring my salary in line with the market. Company will get 1-2% which is nonsense as they have made a lot of money the last two years

Fifthtimelucky · 11/03/2022 17:05

I'm a bit surprised to see the teachers here say they aren't expecting a pay increase this year.

I haven't read the whole thing, but this suggests that Government is proposing big increases for new teachers, but that pay for UPS teachers will go up by 5% over two years - 3% this year and 2% the following year. Nor as good as for NQTs, but better than 0%.

Runnerduck34 · 11/03/2022 17:05

I work for a LA we just got 1.75%

polexiaaphrodesia · 11/03/2022 17:07

3% here but we have been told that there will be a mid year review to assess the raise in inflation (and the fact that we are losing loads of people to competitors..)

Fifthtimelucky · 11/03/2022 17:21

Here, for anyone who might be interested, is a link to the DfE proposal for teacher pay in full.

BambinaJAS · 11/03/2022 17:28

I just got mine. Its 10.2% this year. Was 3% last year.

BambinaJAS · 11/03/2022 17:30

22% bonus as well. Work in Asset Management - Insurance.

LGY1 · 11/03/2022 17:45

Local government 1.75%, however it puts me up a pension bracket so this month I get paid less than last month before the pay rise
Joy!

Husband 10% bonus & 5% pay rise…..

jesusmaryjosephandtheweedonkey · 11/03/2022 17:47

I got 5% and I'm grateful for it

bungaloid · 11/03/2022 17:49

Private sector, ours is always pretty much 2.7 % but is adjusted up or down based on individual performance, but not by much (maybe 4.5 % for the highest performers, but these tend to be only about 5 % of the people). Same 2.7 % this year, not sure whether they generally tie it average inflation or not. Well, probably not I guess.

JaceLancs · 11/03/2022 17:59

I’ve just agreed 3.5% for all my staff from April
