Pay rises

Hopefully this won't come across as insensitive but I am wondering what pay rises if any people are expecting this year? On the one hand we are told it will make inflation worse but then bankers have had record bonuses & Ive seen some posts on here taking about double digit % pay rises. Mine is 2%, better than nothing obviously but not much help.

Probably a big fat zero. Same as the last few years.

Promises of quarterly bonuses never appeared but as living and minimum wage increases mine still won't.

The junior worker is only taking home £150 less than me a month and I've worked for the same company for 25 years and earn by far the most for the business.
Soul destroying and the reason I'm educating in other fields and have requested to condense my work hours from April.

I can't actually afford to work this job anymore and as for spending so many years working my ass off to get where I am we'll what a fucking waste with no pension until the work based one started up.

Feel like I've wasted 25 years of my working life so it's got to change for me now.

I could earn more in a lot of other jobs that don't require years of skills

pinkhibiscusflower · 11/03/2022 13:41

None for me. But haven't had one in three years so what's new. Dreading getting on financially. Trapped with young dc and a wfh flexible job that took me two years to find I'm too scared to leave it.

Flippydip · 11/03/2022 13:46

Last year I managed to get a double digit pay rise due to a big promotion. Just in time for shit hitting the fan with cost of living so I'm feeling incredibly grateful. This year I'm expecting an 8% rise and everyone in the team is getting similar.

Halllyup17 · 11/03/2022 13:48

£2.10 per week, for 24/7 care of a disabled adult, and no chance of any other job.

Don't know what luxury I'll spend it on. Maybe electricity.

Whatiswrongwithmyknee · 11/03/2022 13:55

I work for the NHS so pay cut this year. OH and I are trying to figure out what to give up to make ends meet.

theemmadilemma · 11/03/2022 13:56

5% to make up for none last year.

LadyDanburysHat · 11/03/2022 13:56

I don't know what I'm getting yet. Will find out in a couple of weeks. Not sure what it will be but my best guess is 3-5%

Woollystockings · 11/03/2022 13:58

Private sector. 1%. Same as last year. I’m significantly worse off than 20 years ago.

gelatodipistacchio · 11/03/2022 13:58

My employer cut our pay this year. I have responded by getting a job with an almost 50% pay rise. I'm gutted, to be honest.

BankingOnChange · 11/03/2022 13:59

4.5% pay increase and annual bonus of 20% of gross salary.

Twinstudy · 11/03/2022 14:00

We won't find out until April but have been told they're aiming for an increase inline with inflation. I won't be holding my breath Grin expecting maybe 1.5-2% with a long drawn out explanation why they couldn't meet inflation!

Dippydinosaurus · 11/03/2022 14:00

No pay rise for teachers and I'm top of the scale so no pay rise there either. Was looking to leave at the end of the academic year but rumblings of a possible recession may stop that. It is a relatively safe job though so not all bad. Bit galling that MPs were awarded their pay rise based on general wage rises when they haven't given public sector workers even an inflation matching rise

Pastnowfuture · 11/03/2022 14:04

My husband and I both work for charities. His is 2%. Mine is 1.75%.

Fernandina · 11/03/2022 14:08

I got one in January, which had already been delayed for nearly two years. It included promotion and works out at just under 20% - although in practice not a huge sum as I work part-time.

KatherineJaneway · 11/03/2022 14:21

2% this year

OhamIreally · 11/03/2022 14:24

5% and am getting some bonus quarterly. It will all be spent on my energy bill (but I'm grateful to have it).

gwenneh · 11/03/2022 14:26

Ours have been adjusted upwards to 6%. Normal is about 3%.

Hasenpfeffer · 11/03/2022 14:29

A fat load of fuck all in the civil service.

R00K · 11/03/2022 14:30

9% this year

OnlyHereToWindPeopleUp · 11/03/2022 14:36

Probably nothing. Usually nothing. Expecting nothing.

msc6199 · 11/03/2022 14:36

NHS so basically a pay cut!

OnceAgainWithFeeling · 11/03/2022 14:42

@Hasenpfeffer

A fat load of fuck all in the civil service.
Some depts are getting 10%, I heard?
Hasenpfeffer · 11/03/2022 14:55

Shock not my department!
I know HMRC negotiated 13% but that's over 3 years.

maddiemookins16mum · 11/03/2022 14:56

I got 3K. But….I was on 17.5K (yep full time) and finally our company realised that if they didn’t do something even more people would leave.

37% staff turnover in a year, not good.

pawpaws2022 · 11/03/2022 15:01

Whatever the minimum wage is going up to I think
