I don't normally get sad about celebrity deaths but he is a legend. His live streams during lockdown brighted it up so much. Sound track to my youth.

Literally been listening to old sets with skibba on this week. You can’t get a better energy than old dnb sets.

dfendyr · 27/02/2022 19:31

@Anthall

One of the biggest mcs on the UK drum & bass, jungle rave scene. Had the pleasure of seeing him many of times & his sets never failed to deliver. Stepback Manchester academy early 2000s. Shabba & skibba, jumping jack frost was an amazing night. Lyrically amazing,highly adataple to many beats, tempos & music Genre's of the past and present.

Many of ravers have travelled the length of the country & abroad to see him play.

The true raving scence will now have a huge void in,absolutely gutted to hear this.

May you rest in peace and mc with stevie hyper d both true junglist soldiers.

This is a fabulous post - tells you what you need to know, and with feeling

@TuscanApothecary

He was a MC to DnB. He was such an energetic and enthusiastic person. Been on the scene for years. Over lockdown he did mixes and was very interactive, helped a lot of lonely people. He wasn't a celeb celeb, but he was well known if you liked raves and festivals.

He had a baby about a year ago.

He looked young, I at least googled and listened and will do again OP. If you have no interest no need to comment at all just scroll on by- personally I like to expose myself to things I normally wouldn’t. Sensitively (I hope).

@VladmirsPoutine - it’s funny you troll every post and @mumsnet seems to let it slide REPORTED

@Redlorryyellowduck

I'm laughing at all the people who don't know who he is but are posting anyway. Had I spent my formative years wearing Laura Ashley, drinking chardonnay in Yeates with a broom up my arse I probably wouldn't know who he was either. But I wouldn't comment that
😂😂

Ahh Skibadee and Goldie at One Nation in the Opera House...sound of my youth

I'm not sure how Vlad "trolled" this thread.

Junglist massive!

IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble · 27/02/2022 20:40

I think he was just getting big as my raving was calming down. But I'm sure i remember him MC'ing at Thunder and Joy along with Det. Great music & great times.

Awful , so terribly sad, and so young.

balalake · 27/02/2022 20:42

Not someone I have heard of, however an early death and thoughts for all who knew and loved him.

“ 'deal with the matter, deal with it proper' “

Yes!!! Absolute legend. Still have my helter skelter tapes. Sad news.

BatonRouge · 01/03/2022 19:34

amp.theguardian.com/music/2022/feb/28/skibadee-changed-the-very-nature-of-what-it-meant-to-be-an-mc-in-the-uk

His voice still echoes through every UK rapper you hear today and his influence endures in the living, breathing global drum’n’bass culture.

Nice tribute.

Who?
Try Google and not being quite such a dick
JackieWeaverHandforthCouncil · 01/03/2022 20:09

Junglist massive! Shout going out to the raving crew! Great memories. Big loss. Too young.

Lolling at the ‘who?’ types pretending they’re high brow and too dumb to use Google. Reminds me of when I was talking about my ‘low brow’ tastes to some fellow primary mums recently. One was carrying on as though she was above everything and was being a bit dismissive of me. Later on when she found out where I lived and what I did, suddenly me and my tastes weren’t so beneath her! I’d hate to spend so much time trying to project an image of what I think ‘classy’ is.

VincentLegrand · 01/03/2022 21:35

Deal with the matter...

I was gutted to read this too.
