More of a WWYD than AIBU chicken in a vegan sandwich.

My lovely step mum is moving and the family have got together to move her today, my dad went to a local bakery to get everyone lunch, my husband is the only vegetarian and my dad got him a chickpea coronation sandwich after double checking with the assistant my dad spent over £50 in there, after a few mouthfuls my husband came across a large chunk of chicken looked in the sandwich and there was small bits of chicken in it, I contacted them through Facebook messenger they have read my message that says

My father came to you early this afternoon and bought lots of food for the family, the coronation chickpea sandwich however contained chicken after the vegetarian who was eating it found out it also contained no chickpeas.
We still have half left with the packaging, how would you like to move forward with this issue?
Regards

But obviously won't get a reply now until Monday at the earliest.
What else can I do?

The money isn’t really the point. This could have been really serious. As it is it’s distressing but not deadly.

I read it as they were asked for a vegan sandwich but because they didn’t have the ingredients they made up the meat version and stuck a vegan label on it.

If they are that dumb I really don’t think these people should be in a job where the potential to kill someone because they are too stupid to understand the difference between chicken and chickpeas

Maybe someone ordered the vegan version of a sandwich because they are allergic to eggs and eating non vegan mayo would kill them.
This server sticks a vegan label on a sandwich and expects allergies to not disappear because they have labelled it vegan.

I suspect the person who made up this sandwich and put the label on it probably thought that a vegan wouldn’t know the difference. They made a judgement on veganism and thought they would make their feelings known.

Come across a few people in the food industry like that.
One did have the pleasure of cleaning up ds’s projectile vomiting when they served him meat ravioli at school despite his picture being on the board about allergies and religious food practices

How I understand it is they knowingly put the wrong label on and informed OP's dad that it was in fact the wrong label and was coronation chicken not chick pea. Obviously not acceptable to use the wrong label but as they informed him, I assume they've thought they'd saved any problem with actual allergies. Of course this is just the shops version. In reality they could be lying or OP's Dd might have misunderstood. I guess we'll never know. Too late to do anything after the fact though surely and hopefully op contacting them will mean they won't let it happen again even with the plan to let anyone buying know

But why give something that wasn’t asked for and label it wrongly.

If I go into a shop and ask for a loaf of bread and the shop had none but instead of offering me alternatives gave me a cake labelled as a loaf of bread wouldn't you think WTF
What goes through peoples minds when they do this type of thing.
Don’t they understand that someone might have requested an item for a reason, like an allergy, it is against their religion, they are vegan or vegetarian or they want a particular item because they don’t like other things.
Also by presenting someone with something they didn’t order and labelling it wrongly just means another trip out to get the thing a person wants
