AIBU to be so proud DS got in to Griffindor?

DS has been at a Harry Potter themed club camp all weekend.

They did the Sorting Hat and he got picked for Griffindor.

It was randomly picked out of a “hat” (or Lidl carrier bag if you listen to DS) so it wasn’t like they put all the little shits in Slytherin but I was so proud when I picked him up.

DS has done many eye rolls and told me it was random and Lidl carrier bags don’t have magical powers but WIBU to give a smug side eye to the Hufflepuff parents at pick up whilst feeling like he just got into Oxbridge? I’d have settled for Ravenclaw at a push.

I am a grown woman with a job. I’m not even a big HP fan (though I fucking love JKR for standing up for women’s rights)

This is quite light hearted but a secret bit of me is still “Ah yes… destined for greatness my DS..the Lidl carrier bag knows all”

DS thinks I’ve gone mad but I’m still very proud of his obvious Griffindor traits abs feeling like I’ve done great parenting that the Lidl bag can clearly sense.

@RightOnTheEdge it really was! They had someone dressed as Hague’s greeting them and a delivery of HP themed goodies from a (stuffed) Hedwig and wand making and all sorts of stuff. Always amazed at all the lovely volunteers who give

The slytherin being where all the arseholes go annoys me as much as dumbledore tricking a bunch of children into thinking they had won the school cup and then being like “ha ha fuck you guys, you lost!” At the last minute. But it was ok because it was slytherin that were sad 😜

I’m a Hufflepuff, DS is a Gryffindor. I was surprised to come out as Hufflepuff as always thought of myself as Ravenclaw but happy to be ‘just and loyal’

Deep down I’m an anything but Slytherin kinda girl though.

DS1 is in Hufflepuff (ie, his school house colour is yellow).

I'm in Ravenclaw (ie, I bought myself a scarf from the studio tour).

I can't wait till DS1 is old enough to have the books read to him (he's in year 1, but sensitive so maybe next year for the first couple)

Don't tell your DS that I have met Daniel Radcliffe, and he is a very pleasant and courteous man.

DD and I are in Ravenclaw, DS is a Gryffindor and DH is incredibly grumpy and refuses to join in —because he ended up in Hufflepuff—

I have camp envy

I got Gryffindor on Pottermore. But I'm so Hufflepuff. I reckon there was a mix up between me and Neville Longbottom.
But th HP young cast have all proved they should be clad in silver and green.

I’m a Ravenclaw. I knew it before I even took the quiz, was not surprised! Eldest DS is a hufflepuff and insisted I bought him a cushion and hoodie to prove it. Youngest DS wants to be ‘the green snake’ and none of us doubt that that is where he belongs!

I think our children may have been at the same camp! Mine ended up as a Hufflepuff and I must admit, my first thought when I saw the FB pics was ‘he won’t be happy!’ Turns out he didn’t give a s**t and was too busy with all the unbelievably cool games they put on for them. I wish I could have gone!

Myself, DH, DD and DS2 are Slytherins. DS1 is a Hufflepuff but we don't talk about that. 😬

You know on a side note, I do hate the 'all Slytherins are assholes' mentality. Not all Slytherins are bad and not all Gryffindors are good. 🤔

I'm the only Gryffindor in the house, DH is a brainy Ravenclaw and all 4 DC's are Hufflepuffs. I have a 100% success rate a 'sorting' people before they do Pottermore.
