I just discovered part of another animal’s trachea under my bed pillow otherwise I would vote yes, YANBU, dog people are go. But it’s a YABU here, some dog skills don’t transfer well to the domestic environment. 😞

I wouldn't live with a housemate who did a giant shit in the middle of my yoga mat. Nor would I accept them lying down on my crossword...

@Coasterfan

Awww yes we have the loveliest little cat he was neglected previously and found us, then when he nearly died in the summer his owner signed him and his vets bill over to us. He asks for nothing apart from breakfast and dinner and he’s just wonderful!
Look at the love in those eyes 😻😻😻

He is absolutely gorgeous, and it sounds like you're very lucky to have each other.
@Sexnotgender I don’t ever think I’ve read a post that resonated so deeply. We have a girl greyhound and a whippet x Italian greyhound. The pair of them would be such needy, judgemental bitches if they were human that I’d have to move out of my own home.
Grin

I do love my girl really but she’s high maintenance.

I am reminded of Reece from Malcom in the middle turning into a dog and shouting at visitors to the house, “ Who are you? What do you want? What? What?”
I imagine the three of them hurling abuse and making threats, running up and down and then swaggering off when whoever it is goes away. Nightmare.
The subjects of poo, poo eating and rolling in unspeakable matter have already been covered. Shudder.
Then jostling each other for cuddles. Nose in the milk jug, if I'm not super vigilant. Table manners, using the term loosely. Belching and oh my gods, the farting.

That's a heartfelt NO.

Our dog is quieter, less demanding and more obedient than the kids so yeah I'd still be her mate.

Whitefire · 13/02/2022 11:05

To be fair there is very little difference between a hamster and the teenage daughter. Only comes out of the nest to pee and get food to take back to the nest.

Tiredan · 13/02/2022 12:12

My dog was quirkily gorgeous, clever, loyal and very funny but he was a terrible thief and entirely unrepentant. If he was a human I'd still be hopelessly in love but it would be via the medium of some convict befriending letter writing scheme.

7eleven · 13/02/2022 13:36

I’d be very concerned if my kitten was human, if she went to the front door (having just been to the back) to see if it was also raining in ‘that’ world.

Theunamedcat · 13/02/2022 13:39

Mines a bit odd as a person he sleeps a lot eats little likes to shout a bit and sucks on a blanket

Could be worse

This thread is making me so happy.

I think I’d get annoyed by a roommate who literally spends all day sitting/lying on the sofa silently and not contributing either financially or by helping around the house (unless drinking the plant water and doing an occasional s**t on the floor counts). He can get away with it by being cute and fluffy and purring a lot but maybe not as a human.
