I just discovered part of another animal’s trachea under my bed pillow otherwise I would vote yes, YANBU, dog people are go. But it’s a YABU here, some dog skills don’t transfer well to the domestic environment. 😞

CeratopsofthePharoahs · 12/02/2022 17:08

Well mine used to poo on the floor, so....

Tbh before she passed, I could imagine her as one of those permanently irritated old ladies, regularly commenting on how the kittens used to have some respect and there was none of this ragdoll nonsense. She'd probably be saying offensive things about the ginger cat two doors down.

vesperlindor · 12/02/2022 17:11

Ddog is totally neurotic, unsociable, snappy and mainly likes the sofa, toast, cheese and peanut butter. And she has a constant running monologue of annoying questions and observations about household happenings. She gets away with all this because she is insanely cute, but in human form? It'd be like living with myself, no thanks!

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 12/02/2022 17:13

@Papergirl1968

Goodness, Jesus, your dog looks like she has a pregnant human belly! Is she expecting a baby? Like a real human baby, not a puppy?! Or is it just the angle?
It's just a very unflattering angle Grin She's a sighthound with a deep chest but otherwise skinny.
CoraPirbright · 12/02/2022 17:15

Oh god he would be heaven!! He would be pretty big - muscular and very handsome. Dark haired with sparkling brown eyes. Touchingly protective, very affectionate but totally gives me space if I want it, checks in regularly. Very bright. Doesn’t fart now that we have switched his food. The only slight problem might be the occasional snore but really ....what’s not to like?!

PlinkPlankPlunk · 12/02/2022 17:15

Mine are both visually appealing and super-fluffy but don’t contribute to the household in any way and are very high-maintenance. I wouldn’t need a cleaner if it wasn’t for them.

I do love them as cats but it’s a hard no from me

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 12/02/2022 17:17

@MiddleClassProblem

If I was out walking with a guy and he ran off to roll in some fox shit, or stopped to chow down on horse manure, I would probably distance myself from him…
And this! Can you imagine the relationship board Grin
gingercat02 · 12/02/2022 17:18

No! They are cats, which as Red Dwarf proved, do not make good humans

Xigris · 12/02/2022 17:36

Cat 1 makes Villanelle look like Mother Theresa. Total murderous psychopath. Thinks she’s wonderful.
Cat 2 is doubly incontinent (age) which in itself isn’t the issue but her total thieving and bitey personality is rather tedious
Cat 3 is THE MOST GORGEOUS CREATURE ON THIS EARTH and if human would probably be a combo of Betty White, David Attenborough and Tom Hanks.
Dog - considers used cat litter an essential part of her diet. Spends an inordinately lot of time licking her fanjo. Massive Wet Lettuce. I adore her but not entirely sure she’d make a good human. I think she’d be needy and a bit annoying tbh.
Goldfish - looks baffled most of the time so who knows

Rogue1001MNer · 12/02/2022 17:37

Absolutely not. I barely love her as a pet.
She's a cute dog, but a terrible wuss. Greedy and high maintenance.

Basically, she's a terrible dog, but would be a worse human

Sexnotgender · 12/02/2022 17:40

My boy greyhound yes, he’s super chill. If he was a human he’d be a stoner surfer type dude.
My girl greyhound is needy as fuck. She’s lovely but I don’t think we’d be friends.

Quamora · 12/02/2022 17:56

No. She’s lazy, demands food constantly and trashes the house. Actually sounds like one of my teenagers but at least they don’t shit in the front garden

CounsellorTroi · 12/02/2022 18:05

No I wouldn’t put up with an adult human who insisted on sitti g on my lap all the time.

CounsellorTroi · 12/02/2022 18:07

And my DB’s black lab would make a very handsome human with his lovely shiny black hair, chocolate brown eyes and lithe physique but the farts……..

CheshireChat · 12/02/2022 18:18

Not right now as for some reason she absolutely hates me, that glare is addressed to me.

She adores my mum and son only right now.

If your house pet was human would you still love them?
SparklyLeprechaun · 12/02/2022 18:19

Any human who wakes me up at 4am by jumping on my head would get short shrift from me. The cat gets cuddles.

Schnauzersaremyheros · 12/02/2022 18:47

I would still love my cat, but I wouldn't particularly like him Grin He is going through the arrogant teenage stage at the minute, and has a bit of an attitude problem. He frequently looks at me in a 'Fuck You' way, so I can only imagine what he would say if he could talk!

EnglishMcSwedeFace · 12/02/2022 18:56

Stupid Cat (SC) is constantly baffled by life and the world. Every year the snow arrives and SC behaves as if the apocalypse has happened, the snow melts and we all go outside in the sunshine and SC can't understand why all the blankets have gone away and her radiator bad isn't warm any more. SC often needs reminding where her food bowl is and still cannot understand the concept of doors. She makes a wonderful cat and is the cutest cat I've ever owned but would need to be in a home for the permanently confused if she were human.

Bastard Cat (BC) would probably be in prison if he were human. He worships the ground my son walks on and follows him everywhere but he rest of us exist merely to serve his needs. Trying to get BC to the vet without my son is like trying to fit a full size tiger into a regular cat carrier. BC has no qualms about attacking ankles if he's not being fed quickly enough, thumps up and down the stairs yelling for food every day at 5am, beats up all the neighborhood male cats and is almost certainly a sex pest to the local lady cats. But he's done wonders for our son with ASD so I forgive him all his bastardly ways. Still wouldn't want him as a human housemate though.

Your cat is beautiful as is whatever your mum (?) is making. What's she doing?

It looks like it’s just the angle
willweevergetthere · 12/02/2022 19:06

Girl cat doesn't stop meowing, is to much of a princess to open the cat flap, begs for food and can be very skittish for no reason. High maintenance humans are not my type of people.

Boy cat is the exact opposite, aloof, self contained but loves a fuss when he's in to mood, sleeps most of the day. He does dribble piss all over the floor after using the litter box.

Not sure I'd put up with either as humans

Tulips21 · 12/02/2022 19:09

2 x cats and 1x rabbit here- all lovely and I think would therefore be lovely humans!

Chattycatty · 12/02/2022 19:14

Mine eats sheep shit (if I don't stop her in time) and then tried to lick me (again if I don't stop her) 🤢

Vampirethriller · 12/02/2022 19:18

No. She's a dickhead. She hides dead things in my bed, she shits up walls and gets it all over herself, she's allergic to everything except beef and spends her whole life trying to eat anything that isn't beef. Actual twat.
I do love her though.

CarrieMoonbeams · 12/02/2022 19:19

Definitely! We have 6 dogs (mostly failed fosters, nearly all a bit wonky), 2 cats, a rabbit, a gecko and our most recent additions are a couple of snakes.

The gecko is an interesting wee chap. Not got a massive amount of chat, but very relaxing to spend time with. Licks his own eyeballs too, soooooo .... 😋

The snakes, well, they're fairly new here and were badly neglected before we got them, so they're like a fairly new relationship, we're still sussssssssing each other out. They'd have to have a think about their diet though if they were human. Yuk!

The rabbit, cats and dogs are without exception absolutely adorable. They are such fun and are all really cuddly too. The way they look at us just melts my heart. None of them smells, farts, but most of them snore. I think they'd all be great humans because they're just the way I like people to be - peaceful, gentle, funny and don't always take life seriously.

Ylvamoon · 12/02/2022 19:31

Nope.
Imagine the constant background noise of "THROW MY BALL, GIVE ME MY DINNER, I WANT A LONGER WALK, DONT GO WITHOUT ME ...
No thanks, the looks I sometimes get are all I can take.
