I just discovered part of another animal’s trachea under my bed pillow otherwise I would vote yes, YANBU, dog people are go. But it’s a YABU here, some dog skills don’t transfer well to the domestic environment. 😞

We have cats, so basically this

If I posted about him on here as if he was a DP I'd have been told to LTB by everyone. "But I love him!" I would protest...

They are also massive cocklodgers tbh. Bloody freeloaders.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 12/02/2022 16:02

God no. One is needy and follows me everywhere I go. He snores and farts. I adore him as a dog but if he was a human - no way.

One is always on the go and never keeps still. He'd drive me up the wall with his relentless energy and he'd never shut up.

Maybe my old jrt would be ok as a human. Although in his youth he killed a lot of wildlife. So I'd be living with a serial killer. So maybe not.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 12/02/2022 16:04

God, no.

That's the whole reason why I have animals - because they aren't human.

It would also be very crowded with four adults in the bed. And nobody with the same amount of legs as I have is ever going to insist upon watching me poo again whilst I am of sound mind and relatively sound body. Especially not when their main subject of conversation is based upon the fact I haven't provided their breakfast yet.

user468375484 · 12/02/2022 16:05

Well I wouldn't share my bed with a grumpy sex pest, so it's probably best if he remains canine Grin

TyrannysaurusXXrightshoarder · 12/02/2022 16:07

Current foster dog is continually ramming me hard in the back of the legs, at high speed, with his Cone Of Shame - my lower limbs are covered in bruises. He doesn’t yet realise the cone arrives everywhere just slightly before he does Grin. So, no, probably not.

firstchopanonion · 12/02/2022 16:09

Great question OP.

Mine regularly bites me and sometimes leaves dead animals around the place, but on the plus side he asks very little of me, keeps me warm when I’m sitting down, is incredibly handsome and always comes for a cuddle when I’m sad.

On balance probably not Grin

Sweetchocolatecandy · 12/02/2022 16:11

@feelsobadfeltsogood

Pets on beds are totally unhygienic 🤢
I often find that people who make judgey remarks like this live in the most disgusting, dirty houses.
MiddleClassProblem · 12/02/2022 16:11

If I was out walking with a guy and he ran off to roll in some fox shit, or stopped to chow down on horse manure, I would probably distance myself from him…

ThatPosterIsSoRight · 12/02/2022 16:13

I love my cats from their little noses to their tails, their soft bellies and their purrs, I love their souls and personalities. I love that they love me. So even if they were suddenly transformed into humans I’d still adore them.

Hellocatshome · 12/02/2022 16:13

God no, they would be the worst type of housemates ever. Lazy, unemployed, leave their shit (metaphorically and sometimes literally) everywhere.

JaceLancs · 12/02/2022 16:15

I he’s far too needy
Vocally demands to be fed
Leaves fur everywhere
Brings me awful presents

JaceLancs · 12/02/2022 16:16

That was no by the way

If your house pet was human would you still love them?
sleepymum50 · 12/02/2022 16:21

Hell no, the cat lies in wait for me on the second to top stair. Black cat on a dark carpet in an unlit landing.

If that was my DH, I’d be checking what life insurances he had taken out on me. Actually it is the DH’s cat, maybe I should be checking ….

2022success · 12/02/2022 16:30

I adore the sound of my cat snoring - a human would be despatched to the sofa or beyond...

thenewduchessoflapland · 12/02/2022 16:36

@seekinglondonlife

If my pet was a human he'd be in prison for DV.
One of dogs would be in for sexual assault assault;always trying to lick genitals and arses no matter who they belong to;the cats hate him for this reason
thenewduchessoflapland · 12/02/2022 16:37

@Porcupineintherough

Hell no! One of them is a greedy pudding who lives to eat and sleep and the other one is a compulsive sex pest on the lookout for a fight. That's fine and normal behaviour in tortoises but it wouldnt translate well in humans.
Your not the one who had to section off part of the garden because the tortoise humps everything are you?
ghostyslovesheets · 12/02/2022 16:39

Cat 1 - no - he wees on random bags - not good in a human
Cat 2 - No he's a vicious twat
Cat 3 - Possibly he is very sweet and likes cuddles but he goes missing for hours/days
Cat 4 - Probably but not if they continued to pull hair out all over the house and tear up carpets
Cat 5 - Yes as long as they stopped puking on the carpet
Cat 6 - Only if he got a job - he's fat, lazy and sleeps 20 hrs a day

gettingolderandgrumpy · 12/02/2022 16:43

I wouldn’t live with something that just sleeps all day while I work then demands to be fed as soon as I’m home then goes back to sleep afterwards.
Every morning she shouts at someone daring to come in our garden . Also washing her arse while I’m eating my tea is a bit off putting but for some reason I love her so I suppose so .

Porcupineintherough · 12/02/2022 16:44

@thenewduchessoflapland No not that poster but similar issues. The advantage of having a male and female is that he knows what a female tortoise looks like so he doesnt waste time shagging shoes, rocks etc. But I have divided the garden in two otherwise he harasses her terribly. He's actually very sweet with people but if he were human I'd have him arrested.

IAmTheWomble · 12/02/2022 16:47

Fuck, no. The cat's an arsehole and the terrier is a gobshite!

LadyLazarus40 · 12/02/2022 16:48

Hmmmm I would think not - the dog obviously found something dead in the garden and ate it - then vomited 4 times in the kitchen hall (think it was a rabbit from size of bones).

Cat woke me by bizarrely licking my ear (she’s never done this before) and then bit my hand when I stroked her.

Based on both of their behaviours today I think it would be hard to live then if they did this as humans!

Fridafever · 12/02/2022 16:49

We’ve got an ant farm. Hmm a human version would be quite industrious I suppose and very strong. It is frowned upon to attack and kill people from different households though so on balance an ant woman would make a bad human I think.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 12/02/2022 16:51

Bloody hell no, one of my cats pissed up my back when I was asleep one time, couldn't you imagine?

The other cat is needy, constantly tapping me and waking me up

The dog is a sex pest, constantly has his nose up the arse of the cats or trying to croch sniff anyone who enters the house

ninnynonny · 12/02/2022 16:59

Fuck no! Our cat is a psychotic, miserable, angry ball of fury, whose main pleasure is in attacking me. I would have her arrested if she was a person.

PopGoesBang · 12/02/2022 17:00

I don't think I'd have picked the dog if he was human. He swings moods far too much, wants his own way and is overly stubborn at the worst points.
Pretty sure the cat would make a rubbish human or have been sent down for murder years ago.

Also, if they could actually respond to some of the things we say to them it wouldn't be a healthy relationship at all.
