Is true?

Really!

They all look so immaculate and you’re not telling me that it only take them 30 minutes to achieve this, both sexes!

Lighthearted, no deep and meaningful debate Grin

If anyone has any insider info this would be interesting to add to the thread!

My ex was on the apprentice years ago, and back then, at least, they really were given 20-30 mins to get ready

First time I have seen fish reeled in hanging by the tailHmm

DrSbaitso · 28/01/2022 22:39

@Justkeeppedaling

I think the the tasks are silly. Sending them to catch fish and then fillet and prepare the fish to sell when none of them have done that before, or expecting them to develop a new product, do market research AFTER they've made the product, creating an advertising campaign and pitching to prospective buyers all over a few days is ridiculous.
Of course. That's why it was so much fun to watch.
MzHz · 28/01/2022 22:58

@HasaDigaEebowai

I have a friend who was involved and sayd those segments are all filmed multiple times
That explains it- there was no way they were driving at 5am, the light was wrong, traffic was way too heavy for the time they were saying it was.

Why 4am… and why leave the phone downstairs if you’re expecting a call…

RoseSays · 28/01/2022 23:52

I think it's so the directors can get a few shots of the guys running around with no shirts on and the girls in their pjs?
Cos, yeah it's bullshit they can all get dressed up to the nines in 20 mins, leaving aside they don't even have their own bedrooms let alone bathrooms.

YourVagesty · 29/01/2022 00:50

There are some blindingly white teeth on this series.

Tulipomania · 29/01/2022 09:03

We know the bit where they leave to get in the taxi is filmed out of sequence, all together, at the start of filming. But what about the clip in the taxi, when they usually say that Lord Sugar made a big mistake firing them. Is that also filmed in advance?

I need to watch carefully to see what they say in the next one.

I'm sure the bit in the taxi is real as sometimes the continuity is wrong and you can see that they are wearing something different to the walk of shame
DrSbaitso · 29/01/2022 10:14

The post firing taxi comments are real and filmed after the firing.

Ginger1982 · 30/01/2022 17:39

@DrSbaitso

The post firing taxi comments are real and filmed after the firing.
Yeah I thought that too. They often make reference to something that happened in the boardroom or another contestant so couldn't be filmed beforehand. Which just makes it weird why they bother filming the walk of shame in advance 🤷🏼‍♀️
DrSbaitso · 30/01/2022 18:16

"Logistical reasons", apparently. I don't know what those could be.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 30/01/2022 18:34

I presume it's because they film the walk from the Viglan (?) building, but they're fired from a studio elsewhere designed to look like a boardroom in the Viglan building, presumably for ease of lighting/cameras etc.

the one with the beret

Was that Lucinda Ledgerwood? I always thought she had a fantastic name.

Oh and the 'losers' cafe is a set

fairycakes1234 · 07/02/2022 13:04

and whats the deal with the miserale little cafe and the sad music :) and they all backstab each other and then all hug when they win, if someone backstabbed me i wouldnt feel like hugging them when they have just thrown me under a bus, thats why i wouldnt be any good. Suppose its all for show really. I like it though but i find them all a bit uneducated, not just this year but other years re. geography and just current affairs, I i mean how can you spell arctic wrong? Not just one of them but three???

@mintich tell us a few inside secrets? Did he win :)

@TheMarzipanDildo

“Yep, it's obviously a load of crap, but it's all farcical pantomime. I haven't been watching it and I didn't watch it last year, because it's all staged and fake, and has the same ridiculous arseholes as contestants. I loathe the show now.”

But it was always like this really, and that’s the whole fun of it! There’s also something weirdly comforting about the fact that you know the women will be wearing the same bodycon dresses in primary colours year after bloody year Grin

I commented to DH about this, they must have a brief that they are only allowed to wear dresses in primary colours. Oh and also must be thin with boobs.
Mothermorph · 07/02/2022 13:19

Oh and the 'losers' cafe is a set

They used to go to a different loser cafe called bridge cafe which was a real cafe. Some friends of mine went there.

lillelilou · 07/02/2022 14:10

I used to love watching the very first series and admired them but the last 4/5 series have been a terrible let down. I've watched one episode in this series after seeing threads that it's back on and honestly, you wouldn't last an hour in a real job with these candidates. I don't think the prize is good enough to attract talent. 250k for a 50/50 share isn't good enough. The candidates apparently turn over millions with their own businesses so realistically, no business person that is already turning millions would want to go 50/50 with Lord Sugar for a 250k investment even if it's for exposure (win or lose) and expose themselves like that being incompetent. Also, the tasks are set up for them to fail especially when most of them are incompetent anyway, so even if you are good, with a team like that you will drag yourself through the mud and no sane business person who genuinely needs the investment would risk this.

So they are bullshitting and because they are bullshitting, it makes a really cringe watch. If they up their game with the prize, I think it will attract real entrepreneurs but then I'm guessing that wouldn't be a watch. I guess the theme here and has always been is that the candidates say they are all this (shark, machine, super genius that can sell ice to Eskimos) and the show then puts them in their place showing that they aren't trustworthy enough to even be in charge of opening a door. I don't know but it is really a cringe watch so it's past it's sell by date for me I'm afraid.

I used to go to bridge cafe, it’s in Acton

I used to enjoy watching The. Apprentice but now I think it's a load of contrived rubbish. Am I wrong?

Shoxfordian · 09/02/2022 06:07

The spelling last week had me actually shouting at the tv 🙄

I still love it though
