To think this cartoon is NOT appropriate for an 11-year-old!?

So my eldest daughter is 11 and has started high school a few months ago. She's always been quite 'nerdy' in terms of her interests and has made a small group of friends into the same kind of things (Roblox, Pokemon, manga and drawing)

They sound nice enough girls from what she tells me (though slightly pampered) but ever since she's started at that school, the amount of times I had to tell her off for swearing recently was disgraceful.

Anyway while monitoring my daughter's iPad found she was really into this particular cartoon she loved. I don't know if its called Hazzun Hotel or Helluva Boss because its under both names(?) but I'm sure it's the same show. It looks like a child's show on the surface but I closely watched some of the episodes and it was absolutely shocking: loads of casual effing and blinding, crude jokes(like sex and bdsm, prostitutes).

When I found this out I talked to my daughter about it and told her it wasn't an appropriate thing for someone her age to be watching, but she argued back like "But all my friends watch it! We're not babies anymore!" etc. etc.

I spoke to DH about it and he thinks I was over the top to ban her from watching the cartoon completely because she loves it, just as long as she doesn't repeat the behaviours. But I'm not happy with that.

I'm not stupid I know she wouldn't of picked up the swearing from that show alone, but it really isn't content I'm happy to let her watch. The show has NOT FOR KIDS in each video so DD knows she shouldn't be watching it.

But am I being unreasonable to forbid her completely from watching it?

'Hazzun Hotel' is actually called Hazbin Hotel and it is 12a because it has a pretty happy-go-lucky plot the plot is to redeem demons in a hotel run by the princess of Hell,if a demon got redeemed they get sent to heaven
To be honest, I'd let my child watch this IF they didn't talk to people younger than them about it AND not do anything\say anything from the show :)

There are clean versions for your child to WATCH and there amazing I watch them with my parents and they actually said yes to the clean!

There are clean versions for your kid to watch! Bet all of the parents will say yes to the clean versions I watch the normal with my dad and he is like don't care. My mother I watch the clean with her she said only if I watch the clean first

The series is lots of fun and would reccomend for when your child is more than 14 years old and already known about all the inappropriate stuff

UPDATE

I am the OP on a new account. Thank you for all your insightful comments.
I've given up trying to stop her watching it now. It's not content I particularly want her to watch but the more I stop her, the more she'd dig her heels in. Her behaviour is still difficult but we are managing it, and we're under no illusion that the show caused it.

As a matter of fact, DD had her 13th birthday in July, and DH bought her a mug with two of the main characters on it - a cute red demon with horns, and a fluffy owl thing (think their names are Blitz and Solar, the mug itself is very cute not offensive). She absolutely loves it and uses it as a penpot because she doesn't want her tea to stain it

I watch Helluva Boss and I've seen a lot of controversies surrounding the creator. Just because it's a cartoon doesn't mean its FOR KIDS. In fact, at the very start of every single episode, it has a warning about the adult humour and content. It's the same for Hazbin hotel too. If your child is watching it, definitely have a talk to her about it but don't make it out as if it's bad. Its bad if she's swearing but don't make her feel like she's done something wrong. I babysat a 15 year old who was watching Hazbin hotel and told me that he got grounded for drawing a character because of the character being named after a drug. He seemed to like the show and me and him shared the interest. But, I think that if you monitor what your child does, then it's fine to let them watch it as long as they're not doing anything bad like swearing or smoking. Let them enjoy these shows because, Helluva boss and Hazbin hotel is a great independent animated show and it's written for ADULTS. NOT A KIDS SHOW IN DISGUISE TRYING TO BRAINWASH KIDS. ITS MEANT FOR ADULTS. It's 15+ in Australia and I have no idea why its 12+ in the UK. So my advice?? Let them enjoy it. Don't pressure them into thinking that if they watch something thats a bit too old for them that they're doing something wrong. Try and watch it for yourself, and see if you think you like it or set boundaries for them. The shows cover a lot of sensitive topics like abuse, SA, and Trauma, but it's funny. Only thing is that it's set in Hell. It's suprisingly kind of biblically accurate (Hazbin hotel) with its own spin on it. It's not that offensive to Christians unless you're VERY religious. It has LGBTQIA+ representation in it, so it might be bad for some other religions, but ITS A GOOD SHOW.

I personally wouldn't ban it. It seems like it's aimed at slightly older teens upwards, but it's not like it's gory and scary and realistic, with graphic sex scenes? As for there being a prostitute character, well I'm sure I'm not the only one who watched and loved Pretty Woman aged around 12.
Just tell her you will consider banning it if she continues swearing in front of you or other adults. I'm just thinking that shows like south park and family guy must be in a similar vain? I've seen it but only briefly.
