EXCLUSIVE

"Number 10 held two boozy parties the night before the Queen mourned Prince Philip alone.

Staff drank and at points danced until the early hours of the night of April 16.

Hours later, the Queen went to a socially-distanced funeral for Philip.

We have spoken to eyewitnesses. At a leaving do for a No10 photographer it’s alleged:

🥂Staff partied in the basement of No10, to music DJd by a special adviser.

🥂One broke Wilf Johnson’s swing in the No10 garden.

🥂Another was sent to the Co-op with a suitcase to buy booze.

Another event held to mark the departure of James Slack, Mr Johnson’s chief spinner, saw:

🍻 Staff gathered for a speech from Slack, with others dialling in via Zoom.

🍻Booze drunk and attendees spilling into the garden.

🍻Chatting and drinking into the early hours.

At the time Britain was in Step 2 of lockdown easing - which banned indoor gatherings and imposed the rule of six outside.

But the celebrations in No10 meant around 30 people were gathered for what a source declares were definitely parties.

Can No10 claim they were work events?

This was the scene in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle the next day.

Prince Philip’s funeral was restricted to 30 people, and the PM declined to attend, to make more space for family.

The Queen did not participate in the service. "

Is a quiz working?

It must be - my dcs' teachers held zoom quizzes.

The stench of desperation from some on this thread is overpowering. Your man is finished.

RestingStitchFace · 14/01/2022 18:05

The rest of the Tory party are definitely taking it seriously. I wrote an angry email to my Tory MP (who is well on the right of the party and seldom responds to me about anything.) I've had a very personal reply in less than 24 hours, acknowledging my concerns and stating the PM was absolutely right to be apologising to the country.

I'm quite surprised tbh. Shock But they are clearly rattled....

VikingOnTheFridge · 14/01/2022 18:06

Oh do me a favour. Labour 'lovers' (just retorting after the 'tory lovers' erm, quip) can dish it but sure cannot takeit

If you think it was a quip, you misunderstood. Incidentally I'm politically homeless, not Labour.

Are you suggesting that teachers will do anything to get out of working? Grin

ClaudineClare · 14/01/2022 18:06

As for Keir's beer, there is just no comparison.

It's exquisite. Luxuriate!

Definitely two beers.

No, eff off and don't drag me into your teacher hate. Most do a great job.
DGRossetti · 14/01/2022 18:08

the PM was absolutely right to be apologising to the country.

The only "absolutely" right thing is for him to resign. "Do a Cameron" as it's called. Fuck the country over and then scuttle away like a cockroach when the lights turned on.

Look. If he's finished fine. Let's just see what the inquiry actually finds shall we?

If they were work colleagues drinking together just like the snap of Starmer fine. If they were nightclubbing with friends who don't even work there then that is not fine.

ClaudineClare · 14/01/2022 18:17

Keir Starmer has been a vocal critic of Boris Johnson over Number 10 party row

Senior Tories have now claimed the Labour leader is an 'absolute hypocrite

They pointed to picture of Sir Keir drinking a beer with Labour staff last year

Honestly, the above summary from the Daily Fail simply screams 😱of desperation. Nothing, not Chinese spies or stripped royals or Keir having a beer is going to divert attention from Partygate.

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 14/01/2022 18:17

@Toblerone20

Oh look now Starmer is drinking beer with others and it obviously looks like some kind of work party as there’s a guy eating in the background too….remember all the comments about how you’re not allowed to booze if it’s just work…but that’s OK cause he’s not tory scum?🤣🤣🤣🤣

Guess by everyone’s logic he should resign too really….oh no hang on it’s Labour so that’s okay it’s not really a party when it’s Labour drinking and eating together its just work….

Just goes to show they are all as bad as each other. Oh wait no…breaking the rules is now okay as long as it’s done in exactly the way Labour did it 😂😂

Two big differences to me:
  1. Keir Starmer didn't make the law that he was potentially breaking. He shouldn't break the law if he wants us to respect his morals but at least he wasn't making everyone else live by rules he chose to ignore.
  1. The scale. This matters most (to me) because I can imagine forgetting a beer after a hard day in the office. Otherwise he's been super hypocritical. But still it's so far off a pre-arranged party as to be laughable.

'Fuck the country over'? But we have the fastest economic growth in the G7. That's not fucking anything over if you ask me.

Love the minimising over Chinese spies Grin

Blossomtoes · 14/01/2022 18:20

@Roussette

Oh no you if you consume booze at work it's a party, sorry the media said so

Oh, don't be so ridiculous! If you can't tell the difference between one guy holding a beer socially distanced from 3 others, and people in a basement with a suitcase full of booze dancing to music set up on a laptop, I fear for your cognitive skills! And then in the garden till the early hours!

My post saying this was deleted for some reason. Someone’s clearly got a very thin skin.
ClaudineClare · 14/01/2022 18:20

Let's just see what the inquiry actually finds shall we?

No. We all know what has gone on. We don't need a fucking enquiry, and certainly not one that is tainted in advance by a lack of true independence. Johnson might not go straight away, but go he will eventually. I cannot wait.

Clavinova · 14/01/2022 18:21

Did he vote against any restrictions?

ClaudineClare · 14/01/2022 18:21

Grr. Inquiry not enquiry. Angry typing!

Roussette · 14/01/2022 18:23

Looks more like two beers to me - there's a bottle on the windowsill

shock horror! Did they collect those two beers in a suitcase from the local Tesco Express?! along with dozens of bottles of booze

It must be - my dcs' teachers held zoom quizzes

Were they all crowded round zoom in school?!

NashvilleQueen · 14/01/2022 18:24

Whataboutery. You can only moan about Starmer if you accept that Johnson and his chums were also at fault. Not Starmer is worse than. And he can't be worse than because if he was the right wing press would have good evidence. And they don't.

SueSaid · 14/01/2022 18:25

'No. We all know what has gone on. We don't need a fucking enquiry, and certainly not one that is tainted in advance by a lack of true independence. Johnson might not go straight away, but go he will eventually. I cannot wait.'

No we do need an inquiry. Otherwise it is 'he said/she said', trial by media. However if it was work colleagues in the workplace we may find it didn't break any laws but was rather an error of judgement.

Roussette · 14/01/2022 18:26

Yes.

Isn't it strange, I do see a sniff of Starmer with a bottle of beer in even the right wing press.
That says something.

Clavinova · 14/01/2022 18:26

Were they all crowded round zoom in school?!

Two/three people together - similar to the screenshot of Boris Johnson.

Oh stop with the desperate whataboutery accusations. It's is perfectly relevant to state if Starmer can drink booze with work pals they shouldn't be moaning about others who have done exactly the same.
