I don’t recall the sound with my older daughter who now uses other sanitary protection. But every time my younger daughter moves all I can hear is the plasticy sound!!

Are they louder now? Made differently perhaps?

She not long began to menstruate and isn’t ready to use tampons/cup, so I don’t want to rush her into using them but I’m sure she will get there eventually. Neither do I want to embarrass her but if I can hear it, others can! So I want to do/say something but what?

Are different brands better?

I use these. Fantastic, and my periods are heavy. Wish I had found cloth ones years ago

Period pants!

@Tothemoonandbackx

This is going to sound like a daft question, but of those who wear period pants, what exactly do they feel like?? I normally wear pads/liners, and when I feel myself having a bit of a 'bloop' I can then feel it for a while until I get the chance to change the pad/liner (obvious wet feeling) do the period pants feel like that at all???? I'd hate to wear them and feel like I'm walking around it wet knickers Blush
They feel just like normal pants because the gusset is cotton/cotton blend against your fanny skin - pant material rather than that horrible synthetic fibre shit you get on pads.

The gusset is padded but it doesn't feel too 'thick' at all.

I wear boxers which mean that the padded gusset part feels molded to my body. With pads, I always feel like there's a gap between my fanny and the pad which is where I get leaks and feel a bit 'unsafe'. This is especially true if I've been sitting weirdly for a while and the pad's kind of molded itself to my misshapen minge. But the period boxers feel like normal boxers - tight, secure where they need to be and they don't bunch up in weird places if I'm sat strangely for a while.

When I get a 'bloop' it soaks into the gusset quite quickly to the padded bit so it'll feel wet for a little while but not as long as pads at all.

Please get one pair and just give them a try Smile

They have always made a noise I hated it as a teenager.

DD hasn’t started yet but won’t be long at all, am looking at period pants but the price is out of our price range at the moment I can’t afford £27 a pair or even close to that. Not sure if the cheaper ones are any good? Our primark don’t stock their ones but I’ve heard poor reviews of those.

My bodyform ones don’t rustle and aren’t scented

I agree. Bodyform are good and non smelly

We use Floweret period pants, they are reasonably priced and they have good deals on bundles, plus there are often extra discount codes e.g. for signing up (can work out around £5 a pair). DD likes them particularly because the absorbent layer goes all the way up the back.

Delivery seems to take a long time though.

Yes i’ve noticed they are so noisy now! I’ve just restarted my periods after 18 months, due to pregnancy and then Breast Feeding, just this moment I creeped out the bathroom past my sleeping baby and all I could hear is rustle rustle, plus they don’t feel as soft as they use to! I’m using body form. I’m going to have to try a different brand as the rustling is really getting to me, every time I move!

BigYellowHat · 20/01/2022 12:54

I don’t think I’ve ever heard another woman’s pad moving about Hmm

PrivateParty · 20/01/2022 20:59

I've never heard anyone rustling. Never heard the always I use rustle.

I have period pants now too, but usually wear a pad too during the heavy times as back up. Just the pants at the beginning and end...
