Not seen neighbours in weeks lights and heating on

Been thinking to myself the last week or so how weird it is that we haven't seen the neighbours in weeks probably coming up to a month now. Every single light on in the house and heating on all day and night.

They have had lots of police involvement in the past, she had 4 older children with learning difficulties police were being called out so many times a week. Her children are normally jumping on the car roof slamming doors etc. Not seen or heard a peep from them since mid December. I always felt sorry for her because it seemed like she couldn't cope with all of them in that small house they were running her ragged.

I knocked on yesterday morning and obviously no answer, is this something you would report to the police or just leave it?

Let’s I know the outcome OP! Hope they are ok

Joystir59 · 13/01/2022 15:43

They might gone on holiday and left the heating on.

stillwaitingonaring · 13/01/2022 15:44

@starfishmummy I knew someone was going to say this I was trying to explain that their behaviour was unusual for a 20 something year old. Yes it is just me assuming not trying to offend anyone.

Someone asked earlier if they was from
The UK and yes they are, I don't think they could have gone on holiday for that long? I know she doesn't work and was sat outside the front several times a day smoking and telling her boys to behave. The whole estate is quiet without them now and without the police turning up several times a week so it was easy to notice that something has happened or they have gone somewhere.

Will definitely come back and update everyone x

Thinking about it, not seen my neighbour for a good couple of weeks.

Thesearmsofmine · 13/01/2022 15:49

I’m glad you reported. It is hopefully nothing but always worth getting it checked.

Emmelina · 13/01/2022 15:53

How strange. They’ve either done a flit, on a very long holiday and forgot to turn stuff off or something else has happened. So let us know what happens!

lonelyapple · 13/01/2022 15:53

Maybe she's left and is subletting to quieter people?

ofwarren · 13/01/2022 16:01

How worrying.
Hopefully they have just done a bunk.

StoneofDestiny · 13/01/2022 16:05

You've done the right thing to report.

justasking111 · 13/01/2022 16:09

Glad you reported it at the very least the housing association need to know if they've abandoned the property

StellaGibson118 · 13/01/2022 16:10

Hoping they are ok, even if theyve done a bunk it still may mean they are in danger of some sort. Well done for reporting

NatashaBedwouldbenice · 13/01/2022 16:17

You've done the right thing. I've done this a couple of times on intuition (requested a welfare check) and both times it turned out I was right to be concerned.

whomoon · 13/01/2022 16:18

I wonder whether they’ve left, but were not on good terms with the housing association so decided to leave them a present of extortionate heating and electricity bills by leaving everything on?

SarahBop · 13/01/2022 16:19

Place marking.

Hope they're okay..or have buggered off and you get better neighbours!! Grin

Hope they are ok, well done for reporting it.

334bu · 13/01/2022 16:50

Well done.

Hertsgirl10 · 13/01/2022 16:59

Did she have a partner? Could it be that she’s moved due to domestic violence? Doesn’t anyone in the area know her at all?

Iv had to move many times as my ex found us and would just have to up and leave so it’s not that strange to me but I hope she’s alright.

TheMagiciansNiece · 13/01/2022 17:00

I think you've done the right thing. Hope all is well.

BluebellsGreenbells · 13/01/2022 17:07

Have you spoken to neighbors either side?

Mummapenguin20 · 13/01/2022 17:12

I think you did the right thing

HelloDaisy · 13/01/2022 17:13

You were definitely right to report it as better to be safe than sorry.

When I was working as a nurse in the community I was asked to visit a lady as the gp was concerned about her. On arrival at her house I saw 3 milk deliveries on the doorstep and saw her on the kitchen floor. I always thought it was a sad situation that she died alone and nobody was concerned about her, no relatives, no neighbours and not even the milkman…

Has it been turned into a cannabis factory? Has it been set up and they've walked away?
