Just being nosey tbh! In your current job what hours do you work? What’s your annual leave allowance? Main perks of the job?

Civil servant in niche digital area.

Normally work 7.30 - 4, early finish Friday. On flex time so work what I want (within reason). Can build up excess hours and take back.

30 days annual leave.

Career average pension

HardbackWriter · 12/01/2022 20:12

I work for a university. I work 32 hours a week (which is 0.9) and get whatever 0.9 x 33 days of annual leave is! Main perk is probably the pension - I also really loved the vibrancy, green space and opportunities of working on a campus but sadly since March 2020 I've been working in my dining room instead...

DramaAlpaca · 12/01/2022 20:16

I work 9.30 to 5.30, Monday to Friday. I get 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Perks? Hmm, free tea and coffee, free parking and health insurance. Oh, and a decent Xmas bonus. I'd really love another few days annual leave.

SickAndTiredAgain · 12/01/2022 20:21

37.5 hours, 9-5:30 but can adjust that day to day if I want, provided I still do the hours.
25 days holiday.
Main perk is private health insurance, including virtual GP appointments. I’ve had an ongoing issue which I’ve finally managed to get actual treatment for today because of it and it will make a massive difference to my life.

Millenial · 12/01/2022 20:24

3 days out of Monday-Friday
Pro rata of 30 days holiday
Perks are that I can choose my days of work and change them week on week if I need to based on childcare
Used to get a Christmas bonus but it got scrapped when the business almost doubled in size staff wise

twominutesmore · 12/01/2022 20:26

7:30-5:30, five days. 12 weeks holiday. Career average pension. Full pay when sick. Pay freeze for past ten years though.

Champagneforeveryone · 12/01/2022 20:27

I work shifts 6 on, 4 off. My pattern is 2 earlies, 2 lates, 2 nights.

Annual leave is dependent on bank holidays as we never close.

No perks at all but I was very grateful for my job during lockdown when I worked as normal without furlough. I know as certainly as I can be that I will never be made redundant.

Thankfully I love my job Smile

OttilieKnackered · 12/01/2022 20:27

Full time so mon-Fri 8:30-5:15 (4:15 Fridays). 35 days annual leave plus bank holidays and Christmas closure of about ten days. Which is amazing. I would say the leave is the main perk.

TangledNemo · 12/01/2022 20:27

8:30-5:30 normally, but I’m on maternity leave and just found out the boss has finally agreed to half day on Friday.

30 days annual leave

Only perk I can think of is private health insurance if you’ve been there 9 months. I qualify for it but don’t want it.

scarpa · 12/01/2022 20:28

Creative agency.

35 hours a week (8-4, 9-5, or 10-6 with 1 hour lunch break). Rare we do overtime.

25 days holiday plus birthday or nearest working day.

Digital GP, phone insurance, free digital therapy subscription if wanted, regular meals and nights out, plus semi regular trips away in the UK and Europe as perks.

It's a pretty sweet deal!

sweetcheekweak · 12/01/2022 20:29

I do about 32 hours a week, well paid, wfh

Very flexible so split my hours as and when I like throughout the day

Unlimited annual leave, 6 months fully paid maternity etc.

Private healthcare, 15% non contributory pension, 20% bonus (10% personal performance 10% company performance)

They were great when coming back from mat leave too, perks included free breast pumps, return to work coaches.

barberousbarbara · 12/01/2022 20:29

35 hours per week. 37 days annual leave plus bank holidays. I work in HE so I can sign up for a student discount card.

JennetHumfrye · 12/01/2022 20:29

I work 37.5 hours a week
27 days annual leave plus bank hols
£250 annual well-being allowance to spend on things like gym memberships etc.
Free tea, coffee, herbal beverages and biscuits
Standard pension
Fully paid for Christmas do
Performance related annual bonus

Decent benefits and certainly not hard done by but still want to leave.....

Joxster · 12/01/2022 20:30

Contracted for 37.5 but normally do nearer 45-50 (no overtime). 1 hr commute each way by car. 33 days of annual leave. Every day is different which is the main perk along with a great team of people.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 12/01/2022 20:31

My official hours are 8am-4pm, today I finished at 1pm so I've just logged on to do a little bit. I usually finish at 3pm two or three days a week to pick up my nieces from school. This was all put in place before the team expanded so not everyone has the same flexibility.

No perks.

Annual leave - 30+8

Social care.

Stoic123 · 12/01/2022 20:31

37.5 hours a week (usually 08.30-16.30). Not long hours culture/ competitive presenteeism so people leave on time and work-life balance is encouraged. Plenty of part-time folks in senior positions.

27 days leave plus BHs (goes up to 30 days after 5 years service). Health cover and 5% pension plus match additional 5%.

Lots of training and support through further education.

Generally, a friendly and supportive environment where employees views are sought and listened to.

Just realised how lucky I am Grin.

Free gym if wanted and £350 to spend on anything health and well-being related.
They pay for my mobile phone every month (personal use).

The office shuts at 1pm on Fridays in the Summer and we get the paid afternoon off.

Aaaand I love my job Smile

And WFH too! But can go in the office if preferred.

qualitygirl · 12/01/2022 20:35

QC micro in pharma

53k per year

39hours per week.

25 days holidays plus bank holidays
We can also build up an extra week and buy an extra week. So this year I have 5.5 weeks holidays. Plus I'll take 2 weeks unpaid parental leave.

Flexi-time, hybrid working.
Annual 8% bonus as cash or shares
Performance based increase annually by 2-4% I think
Private health insurance

WillYouDoTheFandango · 12/01/2022 20:37

9-5:30, 4 days a week. Supposed to be 30h but in reality do ~33-36 but I have masses of flexibility. I can move my NWD, make up hours in evenings/weekends, take my lunch at 3pm to do the school run. They trust me to do the job as and when I like. In return, I am also very flexible when needed.

The pay is good but benefits were terrible - statutory minimum holidays, 15 days sick pro rataed down, SMP only but they announced this week they were making loads of improvements and tbf what they’ve given us is much better.

Kfjsjdbd · 12/01/2022 20:37

I work 4 days a week.
26 days AL plus bank holidays.
Free snacks, tea, coffee, sometimes lunch.
I can wfh 2 days a week if I want.
Dreadful basic pension, no bonus, no pay increases. I’m looking to leave asap.

Forrandomposts · 12/01/2022 20:37

Contracted 37hrs but work nearer 50 most weeks

34days leave plus bank holidays

Almost 20% employee pension

Free tea/coffee, subsidised food, free mental health services through work, lots of different loan scheme.

Rrrob · 12/01/2022 20:37

9.30-5.30 mon to thurs.
21.5 days holiday (27 days FT).
Private health care, £500 wellbeing fund that I have yet to use because it’s so bloody complicated.

NotMyDayJob · 12/01/2022 20:38

Public sector, not local government but similar. 30 days AL plus bank holidays, hours roughly nine to five with some flex (eg 830 to 430 if you want) although I do work longer some days and there's no overtime. Flexible working generally well received, I do a 9 day fortnight. Perks include private healthcare, free travel and related discounts. Final salary pension.
