8:30am-5:30pm Mon-Fri with some admin most evenings and Saturday working is common on top, Oct-early Jan is more like 7:30am-10:30pm, seven days a week. No paid holidays, no sick pay, and by far the hardest job I've ever done. Perks? I don't have any management to answer to, every penny I earn for the company is mine, my commute is a three minute walk, I can come and go as I please and do every school run, have never missed a school concert or assembly, and for six years I didn't have any childcare costs.

hellopicklesticks · 13/01/2022 10:55

7.30-5 Monday to Friday. Absolutely zero wriggle room for flexi time, cannot take an hour off for an appointment then make it back up.
If we clock in late or the machine goes wrong we are docked half a days wage.
28 days holiday but bank holidays and xmas closure get taken from that (no exemptions) so we have 15 days this year to book as we wish, as long as it's booked 2 weeks in advance and doesn't clash with anyone else.
I would say free tea and coffee but for 2 days a week there's no milk as it's run out.
Free road parking but knowing we risk getting our cars scratched by the countless HGVs that come down.
Everyone is doing multiple jobs as vacancies aren't filled when people leave, there's a very high turnover.
Male ego's and blatant sexual harassment is rife, only yesterday I was working in a drivers cab, he was doing something on the back and made the cab wobble. I joked I was getting sea sick, he said oh come on you like it a bit rough.
This is the most soul destroying, depressing, lonely company I have ever worked at.
Feels good to get that off my chest though

20 hours a week. 15 days annual leave, incl bank hols. We did used to have one lunch in the week provided but that's stopped recently. No other perks. However I do actually quite like my job and colleagues.

coles85 · 13/01/2022 12:09

It's so interesting so see the variety of what is available! For me I have:

Compressed hours (full time over 4 days Mon-thurs) 37.5 hours a week.

34 days holiday a year (this includes bank holidays)

Good pension (company match my contribution + 2%)

Private healthcare, share incentive scheme, annual bonuses, flexible working.

On the whole a great company to work for. It's a large global company in the technology sector.

Wouldn't consider leaving any time soon.

GreenBea · 13/01/2022 12:16

My hours are 9-5 (but very flexible for appts/family events etc). We have an unlimited holiday allowance. As long as your work is complete and you don't leave anything major that a colleague has to pick up then you can take as much holiday as you like. Obviously you have to be considerate and we operate on a 'don't take the p*ss' policy.

Phos · 13/01/2022 12:46

28 hours a week
35 days annual leave

Flexible working, family private healthcare, life insurance for me and DP, share save and share match schemes, decent pension, extremely generous maternity and paternity leave, mental health support, hybrid working, you can also undertake any training costing less than £5000 without sign off. Also generally quite nice culture overall.

MrsAntonioConte · 13/01/2022 13:04

Unlimited holiday works when;

  1. no meetings scheduled for that day
  2. no more than 2 people off at the same time per department
  3. your work must be finished with nothing outstanding for that day / week…

If you tick all of the above then your holiday will get approved!
Smile

GaiusHelenMohiam · 13/01/2022 13:09

Allegedly 48 hours but realistically 55 most weeks.

28 days holiday.

Perks: free beer/gin/merch. I’m going on an all expenses paid breweries tour in Europe in a few months, a jolly not a work trip, as a reward for being excellent at my job. Fully paid apprenticeships, as many training courses as you want to attend. And then cycle to work, cash back and offers through partners, mental health and financial support.

It’s a great company to work for.

Hugasauras · 13/01/2022 13:18

I work 21 hours (FTE 35) across three days and get 21 days of holiday, so 7 weeks. Hours range from 2pm-10pm to 5pm-1am.

Perks of the job: entirely WFH if I want it, which I do, and in the evenings so childcare is much easier and I can still spend time with DD during the day. Also love my colleagues - we've worked together for 10+ years and are good friends. Also has decent benefits.

StormyCornishSeas · 13/01/2022 13:37

I work 8-4 mon-Thursday finish 3:30 on Fridays

I have 64 days al a year but 30 of those are unpaid.

Perks of the job are the annual leave entitlement and that when I leave work I don't need to think about it after wards.
Downsides are pay & I have to take the holidays at set times of the year

FaoinDrualus · 13/01/2022 13:37

40 hrs/week, flexible, can be done between 6am and 10pm, Mon-Fri.
Hybrid WFH usually (but currently it's all wfh)

28 days leave plus public holidays.
Holidays can carry over for up to five years, but need to use current years allowance before we can use carried days.

Perks - bonus scheme (10%); travel allowance (everyone who doesn't have a work parking space gets it); subsidised canteen, coffee shop and bar; there's a work fitness center and swimming pool (pool is free, use of gym is free but classes at both are not); shares scheme; pension scheme (we put in 5%, work puts in 10%); work nursery (cost is a percentage the family's gross income, so mostly used by lower and mid-level employees); Maternity leave is 18 weeks, paternity/partnership leave is 10 weeks (both on full pay - can also take further unpaid leave for up to six months); Various discounts in the city (ranges from car hire to cinema tickets).
