to have my mn appeal faith in humanity stamped on by the tyre slashers

I'd felt all warm and happy and xmasy thanks to the MN xmas appeal - not just for the lovely things we received, but all the other stories and thanks.

I've just gone out to get in the car with the boys to go and do the (admittedly) last minute xmas shop ( hoping to get the marked down last minute party food and oopsies in asda) and found not one, but TWO of my tyres slashed. neighbours confirm 26 people in my street got their tyres slashed last night.

No point crying over slashed tyres etc, but i feel really angry. walked to the nearest shop with the boys to buy butter and sugar to make santa some shortbread. My ex couldn't help as he was too pissed to drive, my friend is working for NHS24 tonight, so he can't drive over to help. Any tyre place that i did find open at half past three was closing in twenty minutes and i had no way of getting there.

Please tell me lovely stories, restore my faith in humanity - or at least reassure me that the tyre-slashers will get herpes for xmas.

Forgive the tyre slashers.

Use it as a chace to to grow

Think that it could have indeed saved you from a nasty crash or something.

Know that eveything happens for a reason.

And know beyond all doubt that the law of 'what goes around comes around' never ever fails.

that is an unbelievably horrible thing to do - they must have known people would need cars for visiting, shopping etc on xmas eve.

it wasn't a disgruntled neighbour was it. Thing is, if it were a group of drunk kids they would have done maybe one or two and then fled. It sounds so horrible , like you were all deliberately targeted.

Beeper, it means my ex has to stay sober enough to drive to mine tomorrow to pick up the children...first time in seven christmases I don't need to drive anywhere because i can't - so it does have it's 'haha' side...

thing is nametaken, neighbour over the road has had problems with getting windows broken, so has cctv, but it didn't stop little sh!ts doing their tyres as well. it's a VERY long road and they've done more or less every car, or every other car on one side of the road -

It happenend here a few months ago. Nearly 50 cars and it was teenagers. Police showed up after they had gone
Sorry its happenend to you.

Happened to dh's old car. It was parked outside his mum's and some drunken teens went on a slashing rampage. In this case the Police took it very seriously and we receive updates and letters from victim support. They wanted him to go to court but he doesn't live at his mums, the car was only there whilst he sold it and he is self-employed so couldn't take the time off work.

I think the boys are up at court soon, they pleaded guilty at first but then changed to non-guilty.

I can't comprehend why they do it
