To be fed up with carol singers

Last night two little kids turned up to carol sing at our door at 8pm. They were about seven or eight with no adult in sight. We live on a main road (v busy). Maybe I'm being over protective but I don't like the idea of children pitching up at the door of people they've never seen before at any time let alone in the dark on a busy road. Afraid I said I had nothing for them, true actually as only chocs I had in the house are posh ones and they are all mine!

Can't believe their parents let them do that! Really good carol singers are another matter though.

Awww... wish we got carol singers around here

Do agree that their parents should have been with them though at that age.

I love carol singing and will be glued to the radio this afternoon for the nine lessons and carols but my blood runs cold at these two kids at a strangers door and they stepped into my house to stroke the dogs( not at my invitation I hasten to add)so would be out of sight. I know most people are fine but just shows how easily children forget all our exhortations about not going anywhere with strangers.
