pmsl this was dh and I yesterday we argued all afternoon and evening until we watched the liverpool nativity and posl at it. Now we are in a festive mood..well he is at work and I am on mn...

I brought down the last of the presents to wrap last night (I did the rest weeks ago). Dh offered to help. I swear if it had been a comedy sketch people would have said it was unrealistic and OTT. I wrapped 11 presents in the time it took him to wrap two. Then he set about wrapping the Wii - I mean, it's in a box, it's not a challenging shape. TWICE he cut the piece of paper too short so the ends wouldn't meet. Then he stuck the roll of sellotape to the Wii box. He used almost an entire roll of wrapping paper. I did it in the end.

He's gone to work today - best place for him, I think.

Result! There are coconut eclairs in the Quality Street choc and nut collection. Merry Christmas.

charmkin · 24/12/2007 10:45

have any of your dhs asked
"what did we get my mother" yet?

crimblemint · 24/12/2007 10:55

My dh didn't mention his parents at all so I just did the normal (for us) routine where I buy the gift and he wraps and sends.

I presented dh with the carefully chosen, stylish silver necklace and book tokens last week and was told 'we aren't doing adult presents this year'. Might have helped if anyone had told the actual present-purchaser.

I couldn't take it any more. I spent stupid money on a flower/choc/wine basket to be delivered today. Just couldn't bear the thought of his Mum, who laboured to have him and then brought him up fairly nicely getting nowt. I really dislike his Dad but all Mums deserve something IMO.

UnquietDad · 24/12/2007 11:12

No, no, no, you mean "my DH not only did the food order and remembered the grapes but also brought the kids a bowl each in while I put my feet up."

Magrat · 24/12/2007 12:30

no,no, no I mean I did the food order and Waitrose delivered it, I put away half of it and then let DH take over 'cos the kids wanted to show me some fabulous lego thing they had built .. again

Thanks ffor the mil reminder. Just rang dh to find out what he had bought his mother - nada. A couple of rapid book presents being bought about now.

Did someone mention Percy Pigs? Love em, esp the PP and chums packets, alway buy on the pretext of the kids. Always scoff at least half the packet myself.

oregonianabroad · 24/12/2007 13:10

psml laughing, especially about 'what did we (WE??????????????????????) get my mother?'

Othersideofthechannel · 28/12/2007 06:29

Actually DH asked this two days before Christmas but it's because he chose her something in September and had forgotten what it was. [smug emoticon]
