Well the men (like me) will have one or two suits, and five identical shirts, and may polish their one pair of work shoes on a Sunday.

Seriously don't stress..

Maybe you are not bothered by clothes now but when you get back into the workplace and start mixing with fashionable women that might change

I love fashion but I hate having to wear smart clothes for my very conservative workplace. I stick to black trousers/blouse or dark midi dress. I work 2 days a week & save my fashion for my non work days.

I'm the boss so I set the tone for my company.

I have mutltiple of the same outfit that I wear and a few signature accesories.

I don't see any issue with having identical pieces when it is something standard - being it dark trousers, white shirts or black t-shirts. Especially with shirts, it is very visible that you have a fresh one. For something more extraordinary, it is a bit different, as more eye-catching clothes attracts more attention. I would consider anyone who sees shirt three days in a row and interprets it as "same outfit, that means same not washed shirt" bit dumb.

I think it's a great idea, I quite like clothes but don't particularly like my body so I find things that fit well & feel comfortable, then buy multiple!

I have 2 black jeans & 2 blue in the exact same style. I have 6 black t-shirts, 3 white (same style). Black cardigan & grey cardigan (same style).

I've got tops, leggings, shirts etc but the above is my day to day wear (I'm a SAHM) & I can get up & dressed without too much thought & I'm clean & comfortable all day.

I would definitely do this for a work wardrobe (but more formal).

@BlackAmericanoNoSugar

I sort of do this in everyday life. Most days I wear Unqlo ultra-stretch leggings trousers, I have about 5 pairs in black and also 3 pairs of their ultra-stretch jeans. I have about 20 vest tops in various colours and over that I wear a loose tunic/shirt. Some fancy ones from Monsoon or East and some plain from Uniqlo (I have one style from them in four different colours). Then I have 4 cardigans than I can layer over the top on cold days, 2 black, one grey and one red. Plus 4 very pretty shawl/scarf things that I crocheted myself.

I also have 3 long billowy summer dresses for hot days. Then I have about 4 pairs of Lands' End Starfish slim leg trousers and four t-shirts for the gym that I sometimes use for daytime pyjamas/lounge wear when I know I won't be leaving the house.

I think most of my everyday wear would be absolutely fine for an office except the jeans and the more casual tunics if it was a bit formal. The most important thing is that all the tops go with all the bottoms so there's very little thinking needed. And all of it is comfortable so I don't spend the day adjusting bits that are digging in or hitching things back into place.

Omg I too have the uniqlo denim stretch leggings, love them so much got them in black, dark denim and light denim Grin also got the heat tech version for winter haha 😄

A senior member of staff at my children's school does this. But her 'uniform' is very stylish, well cut pieces, made of good quality fabrics and everything looks pristine. The only time she's not wearing the 'uniform' os on sports day.

I realised I have a 'uniform' too albeit a non-worky one. Day to day I live in jeans, plain white or black t shirts, plain white or black shirts (in cotton or silk), plain wool jumpers. Getting ready in the morning is easy, doing laundry is easy and quite often I can go from a day to evening look easily just by changing shoes and adding some lipstick Grin. But I accept it's not for everyone.

Or maybe not!!! I really couldn't give a toss what others are wearing. The only thing I was amazed about was when my bosses car broke down and she walked, in 40 mins, half the route I walk in my 30 min lunch break sometimes. Why would you wear clothes that arent practical for every day life? I dont think a 15 min walk through town is a ridiculous requirement for clothing.
Surgarblossom · 08/01/2022 19:34

Why on earth would you want to do that!?

hamptonedge · 08/01/2022 20:40

I do something similar for workBlush. 2 pairs of trousers in navy and black, one longer to wear with med heels, I pair shorter to wear with flats. Navy & black cardigans and a variety of tops in various styles and colours. Ive always got a co-ordinated outfit. Sometimes I live on the edge and wear a dress!

nyteflyte · 08/01/2022 21:12

I work in tech industry, and our team includes several "designers". These folks take special pride in having a "look". The look typically includes a dress palate from which they very seldom change. It's basically very very very similar clothing.

Steve jobs was probably an extreme example of that, with jeans and black top.

cunningartificer · 08/01/2022 22:04

I used to get very stressed about what I wore to work and waste time deciding outfits. I don’t like wearing black much and in my work senior people tended to wear dark suits. Then I decided to choose the colour that suited me best and I felt happiest wearing (green), and wore it for work. So gradually all my work stuff was green (or shades of) dark or light depending on season, and it has transformed how easy it is both to get dressed every day (everything matches) and how easy it is to but work clothes (never look at clothes that are the wrong colour). It’s become a (nice) thing at work that people know it’s my favourite colour as well.

My bad @WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles and OP I thought you meant the exact same unlaundered clothes FFS
