Staff not ‘boosted’ affecting whole team.

We are quite a large team and everyone except one has had their covid booster. She has had the first two vaccinations. Guidance has just been changed - so anyone who is a household contact can return to work if they meet certain conditions. Being boosted is one of them. She refuses to get the booster - unsure of her reasons - I haven’t asked as it’s none of my business. She has been off multiple times with symptoms and has taken multiple PCR tests - all of which have been negative. We all just roll our eyes now when we are told she is off again. Now they have been identified as a close contact - but will need to isolate as not boosted. We are stretched as it is and can’t help thinking less of this person! AIBU?

It's up to the company to stop paying her for being off. That's the only solution

Not sure if same everywhere but I can almost predict those who will feel a bit rough post vaccination and will have a couple of days off.
And yes it does affect me if non vaxxed people have isolate more as their day to day work still has to be covered by the rest of the team so longer term stuff ends up getting taken home to do

@bluetongue

I get it. Our workplace serial sick leave taker has also had multiple days off after getting numerous PCR tests. She’s run out of normal sick leave but we get extra ‘Covid leave’ every time we get a PCR test and have to isolate while waiting for results.
I feel your pain already today had a serial piss taker enquire about the new guidelines of being able to self cert for 28 days .

Not sure if same everywhere but I can almost predict those who will feel a bit rough post vaccination and will have a couple of days off. Ffs people can't win. Don't get the vaccine, you're an arsehole. Get the vaccine, be one of the many many people who have side effects meaning you need a couple of days off, you're an arsehole again!

And before you label me as one or the other I have had 2 vaccines (care sector so we had no choice if we wanted to continue our careers and not leave service users with even less carers). I worked Monday to Friday at the time so booked both for Friday afternoon in case of side effects I'd have the weekend to cover. This meant I had to leave an hour early and employer made it clear they weren't happy The first made me so tired I fell and cracked my ribs. The second have me migraines every day for 3 weeks. I showed up to work every day as usual because I didn't want to let the residents down and my employer would slag off anyone who dared to ring in sick post vaccine, even though he spent a week in bed after his! I've since left that job as I realised life's too short to live in fear of having to take a couple of days off just because you work for a wanker.
