To think I haven't caught it from DH?

So DH tested positive NYE after developing symptoms on Thursday. Prior to that we both had our boosters on Monday 27th and just assumed we were feeling a bit rotten due to the side effects of that. I obviously had been sharing a bed etc with him up to that point as no reason to assume either of us had Covid.

I have now developed symptoms since Saturday and just been for PCR this morning. AIBU to think I just have a totally unrelated cough/headache/sneezing thats not the dreaded C?! I haven't been anywhere since Xmas eve barring the local shop for some milk but DH has been back to work

OP posts:
AlDanvers · 02/01/2022 11:10

So he has it and your assumption is that you don't? Or that you got it elsewhere?

What makes most sense is that you have it from dh.

SoupDragon · 02/01/2022 11:11

Why do you think you've not caught it from your DH? It seems most likely.

SoupDragon · 02/01/2022 11:11

And why has your DH been back to work if he's still meant to be isolating?

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 02/01/2022 11:12

Surely the obvious answer is you've caught it from your husband? I don't really understand why you'd assume otherwise.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 02/01/2022 11:12

@SoupDragon

I think she means her DH went back to work after Christmas and then tested positive on NYE.
Boombastic22 · 02/01/2022 11:12

Weird sounds like of course it’s from DH

girlmom21 · 02/01/2022 11:13

Everyone he works with is likely to catch it from him. He's a selfish prick.

It's also likely you've caught it and you'll know when your PCR comes back.

galacticpixels · 02/01/2022 11:14

I don't really understand the question. I'm not sure why it's relevant that you haven't been anywhere since Christmas Eve when you're living with someone who has Covid.

Branleuse · 02/01/2022 11:15

i think its a bit of an odd question, but i assume with symptoms and a positive contact then you probably have covid and should follow whatever the isolating and testing rules currently are.

Why is he selfish prick?
girlmom21 · 02/01/2022 11:15

@Bagamoyo1 because he's gone to work with covid

HughGrantsHair · 02/01/2022 11:16

YANBU to HOPE that it's just a cold you have.

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 02/01/2022 11:16

I don't know what you mean, do you think you don't have covid at all or you do have it but got it from somewhere else Confused

PointyMcguire · 02/01/2022 11:16

Surely the obvious answer if you’re positive is that you caught it from DH?

MadeOfStarStuff · 02/01/2022 11:17

Why on earth is a random cold more likely than you catching covid from him?!

Sincerely hope you mean he went to work between Christmas and showing symptoms, not that he’s been spreading covid round his workplace!

Bagamoyo1 · 02/01/2022 11:19
@Bagamoyo1 because he's gone to work with covid
Where does OP say that?
She says that he’s been going to work since Christmas, but only tested positive on NYE.

WorraLiberty · 02/01/2022 11:20

I don't really know why you're giving it head space tbh.

You'll never know how you caught it or who from.

Do you give it this much thought whenever you catch a cold, or stomach bug etc?

FortniteBoysMum · 02/01/2022 11:20

In our house all been together whole of Christmas holidays since 24th. All came down with covid a few days between each of is. Yet we must have all been exposed together. I had booster 2 weeks before Christmas which clearly was pointless as I feel bloody awful.

I wouldn't say pointless, just more unlucky.
HughGrantsHair · 02/01/2022 11:22

Same happened to me. Booster days before testing positive. Typical

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 02/01/2022 11:26

If you had your booster on the 27th you have been somewhere since Christmas!

It is possible you caught it from your husband. Or when you went for your vaccine.

Twinstudy · 02/01/2022 11:29

You've caught something from somewhere. If you haven't been anywhere surely it stands to reason it's from your dh

Twinstudy · 02/01/2022 11:29

(not that it really matters where it's from!)

Excitedforthefuture · 02/01/2022 11:30

Who cares the source

You have it or you don’t
