@jgw1 No, I get to call a person a criminal if I consider their actions are criminal even if there is no current legislature to enable them to be prosecuted.

I’m not going to respond any further as I don’t wish to hijack this thread any more than I already have, and you’re being extraordinarily childish.

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g

I was far more surprised by Vanessa Redgrave accepting a Damehood. She and her brother Corin were stalwarts of the Workers Revolutionary Party and similar outfits for decades.
That's the one which shocked me, talk about hypocritical!

And I will call people who drive dangerously outside my house attempted murderers.
@jgw1 If I think that morally he is one, then I will say so. That is my choice. His dishonesty led to the loss of countless innocent lives and him being honoured in such a way is insulting.
You could say the same about Boris Johnson and Matt Hancock and their outright lies about care homes and hospital discharges at the start of the pandemic that led to deaths of 50+thousand.
Or to their outright lies about PPE stocks and deliveries put hundreds of thousands at risk and caused thousands of further deaths.

We all need to nominate those who we feel deserve the credit although I know the nomination papers are hard work.
A local lady has received such a well deserved award that it actually made me feel quite emotional for her.

Scrap the awards system unless it is simply an acknowledgement of service over and above duty or for unpaid service. So, not for people who are paid to do a good job and did it, or people who 'served time' as PM's etc.

Thatcher becoming a baroness and having a statue in Parliament was vomit inducing as it will be when Boris Johnson is awarded a knighthood despite being a lying, morally vacant sleaze bag. Arise Sir Bawbag ugh
