To be upset about this?

Due to lockdown DSIS didn't see my DD til she was 5 months old. Xmas had come and gone in that time. When we saw them they had a belated Xmas present for DS but nothing for DD. Fair enough I thought, she's only a baby and I guess doesn't know what's going on.
Fast forward a year... we've just met up for Xmas. DSIS bought for every single one of her nieces and nephews apart from DD.

AiBU to be upset?

She bought for them from birth as far as I know.

She always goes to bed very late so I won't phone yet. Also DH's birthday so trying to fit things in

We talked this afternoon.

Apparently she doesn't always buy for them from birth. Totally strange in my eyes - especially with the 'we didn't think we would see her' stuff and her being the only one but there we go.

That's such a ridiculous & obviously bullshit excuse - it's downright mean to buy for everyone else & exclude 1 child. And not to have done last Christmas or her 1st birthday either? She sounds unpleasant. I'm not sure I'd be able to let that go.

"Apparently she doesn't always buy for them from birth."

Well, clearly not, as she has shown by missing out your baby girl.
Sounds as if she knows she's cocked up. It's a shame she couldn't just hold her hands up and apologise though.

That's a rubbish excuse appalling behaviour really.
