Just that. Thank you!

Is this just an ad for the app you mentioned? As you haven't said anything about it, are you expecting people to look it up?

coodawoodashooda · 27/12/2021 10:43

No. On a thread about self help books someone mentioned blinkist. I think it is great. Wondered what else I was missing out on.

So what does this magical app do?

Jasmine11 · 27/12/2021 10:47

Ah ok, you might want to get the title changed so people know it's self-help apps you are looking for. I use headspace quite a lot and actually the YouTube app has been very useful for streaming yoga videos and meditation music. Depends what kind of thing you are after.

Megacervixosaurus · 27/12/2021 10:48

Yeah but what does this app do?

BlusteryLake · 27/12/2021 10:50

I tried it a while ago and didn't think it was very useful so deleted it.

coodawoodashooda · 27/12/2021 10:59

The app summarises non fiction. Fiver a month. Not just self help. Anything really.

I love Evernote - it’s a note taking app but I have it on my phone, iPad and laptop and it syncs across all of them so I always have what I’m looking for. I basically use it to keep track of my whole life!

My other recommended apps are What3Words which is more generally useful rather than life changing - it helps you identify your precise location, Dr Greger’s Daily Dozen which helps you track healthy habits, and Spotify.

I also used to have IFTTT which helps you automate various things on your phone which can be quite helpful.

Jasmine11 · 27/12/2021 12:09

Just a bit of advice OP if you want people to help you out with something then you need to give more details. From your terse replies it’s like getting blood from a stone! I still have no idea what kind of recommendations you are after..

PumpOutTheBilge · 27/12/2021 12:11

OP, do you also have a secret way of losing weight that doctors don’t want us know and that I can find out by clicking a link?

Or want to find out my astronaut name by taking my mother’s maiden name and combining it with my first pet’s name?

WhatScratch · 27/12/2021 12:11

Isn’t that what Wikipedia’s for?

Dont see the point of that really
CorrBlimeyGG · 27/12/2021 12:16

What purpose does that serve?

colourfulpuddles · 27/12/2021 12:17

Why so vague? Why is this like trying to get blood out of a stone?

chipsarnie · 27/12/2021 12:19

Sixty quid a year for an app that 'summarises fiction'?

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY

sweetbellyhigh · 27/12/2021 12:19

Yes! I love Blinkist! Best app I've ever come across. Share the love

sweetbellyhigh · 27/12/2021 12:20

Pocket is great too

It's not just self help, it's all types of things.
Imdreamingofapeacefulxmas · 27/12/2021 12:20

What is hkinkist?

Haha

I mean, goodreads is free.

chiefcha · 27/12/2021 12:24

An app that summarises fiction would be rubbish
This one summarises non fiction. I think 60 quid a year is cheap

CorrBlimeyGG · 27/12/2021 12:26

Knowledge for people that can't be arsed to read?

sweetbellyhigh · 27/12/2021 12:28

I find it cheap and can listen literally for hours. You plug in your preferred topics and a list of summaries is generated. You can read or listen. I listen while I walk or do stuff round the house. I've learned so much!

I think it won app of the year and I certainly would vote for it.
