Just wanted to share this as it made my day.

Christmas Day - just the four of us - me, my 18 year old daughter, 13 year old DS and 11 year old DS. I'm a single mum with no extended family and was feeling anxious about the whole thing.

My 11 year old is non verbal. The only word he says regularly is Mum.
They were all so happy and grateful for the presents I had chosen for them.
My daughter and 13 year old DS kept saying "Thank you", and then as clear as anything I heard another little voice say "Thank you".

I'm going through a really tough time, and hearing him say that just made the day so extra special.
It was just amazing!

Oh my gosh I remember the first time my non verbal child said his first sentence at 7. I wanted to scream out in joy. One of the best moments of my life. You will never forget this day.

My son was in a situation that really inspired him to speak. But it was to tell his brother to shut up.

" shut up x, I dont care what you think" was literally his first sentence. Beautiful and it did shut his brother up too 😂

loislovesstewie · 25/12/2021 17:33
