to think it's a bit much that kids teacher has given them homework this week.
They've had a good work assembly last week in a Chapel-(readings, singing etc), a trip to a panto 25 miles away, a nativity performance, a bingo type evening last night- home by eight, a party today, a carol service in church tommorrow.
They were given homework on monday.
We're all exhausted, including the teachers- I think it's bonkers.

I agree, YANBU. The school is potty dishing out homework this week of all weeks. The poor children must be shattered.

How old? If they've got 11+ as soon as they go back, why not?

Foofi- 10 yrs old- and this am she's in floods of tears she's so tired- carol service thi afternoon with solos/readings- and then major pressure to go carol singing tonight from 6-8.
I'm not actually going to make her go- I think it's too much.

I think its cheeky to give them homework when the teachers have been taking them on jollies all week i'd rather my kids went to school to work and then when the im with them in the holidays i can take my kids on jollies and enjoy them without having to have a battle over homework!

YANBU - mine haven't been given homework that need's to be completed this week, but dd1 who is 8 has bought home a reading log and a maths log so she can record what she has read and what she has practised in maths over the christmas break. I think I might be sending a note to the teacher in the new year to say that dd1 was too busy enjoying herself to complete the log. Christmas time should be about spending time with your loved one's and having fun.
