One of my cats managed to walk across a painting i had just bought i wasnt very pleased at the time but 15 years later the cat lived her life and passed away and i still have her two tiny little paw prints on the picture and good luck trying to keep oriental cats out of anywhere they want to go lol

A covered butter dish is key with cats.

I have a stool designated for cat supervision. He is a breed that isn't a great jumper anyway so no attempts have been made on the kitchen counters. But I would not allow him up there anyway and generally keep the door shut if I'm not in the kitchen.

I am SO glad that I am very allergic to cats.

This is why we have gerbils. They could no sooner get into the kitchen than fly to the moon.

Ha ha. Gorgeous kitties. We have Orientals too and they are beyond curious - whatever you do they want to come and look at. I am resigned to having to wipe down surfaces before using them as they have no concept of such arbitrary rules as which places are allowed and which are not.

Our cats don’t go in the worktops as a rule, oe so we thought until we set up a camera and found one likes to look out of the kitchen window as dawn breaks. I just clean the worktop every morning just in case now.

This cat also likes to sit on the dining table, I was serving the table ready for breakfast tomorrow, turned around and there she was. That door is firmly closed now.
