To be really bloody upset and pissed off about the fact that my husband has come home from work ready for two weeks off and has just tested positive for covid when doing a LFT.

Anyone else's Christmas cancelled?

Our tiny baby is also poorly with bronchiolitis and I'm scared that he will catch it now too.

Honestly i am so sad for all the memories we are going to miss making this Christmas.

I am so done with this crap.

Sad

@Theimpossiblegirl

Anyone else wondering what the statistics are for covid positive right now? Every family I know has been affected in some way. We're no exception with DH waiting for test results and the larger family gathering being cancelled due to positive PCRs.

That’s why we have to stop putting up with the madness of asymptomatic people isolating. The longer people put up with this crap, the longer this psychodrama goes on.

Us too. DS2 tested positive five days ago. Lives alone in London. Will be having his Christmas 'dinner' by himself. He is triple vaccinated.
DS1's girlfriend who he lives with tested positive two days ago. They are both triple vaccinated. Just waiting for DS1 to turn in a positive result.
DH and are having Christmas alone. It is what it is. Second Christmas on our own. It is shit but we just have to get on with it.
Wishing those that can be with family and loved ones a really great Christmas.

Why can’t your DS2 stay with you for Christmas Day? Unless you are high risk and not being vaccinated I’m not understanding why you are so scared to get Covid. You might not even catch it now if he is on day 5. I never caught it from my boyfriend and even did a govt antibody test and I definitely dit not get Covid. You could get knocked down by a bus tomorrow. We only get one go at this.

Yes, exactly the same here. Positive LF test on the 23rd and positive PCR yesterday evening. I live by myself so am away from partner and friends, not only for Christmas Day but also the rest of the holidays - which happens to be the biggest chunk of time off I’ve had all year. Fuck this. I am so done with it now.

I'm so sorry @Blueby1 Thanks

DBro tested positive, so we couldn't go to Dad's (he lives with Dad), and it looks likely poor Dad may also have covid now. As he's been quite ill and is stil recovering, I've keeping my fingers firmly crossed that he's recovered enough to cope. He has at least been triple jabbed, which may help.

So DC and I have had a nice dinner but it's been quiet. On the plus side, DC and I cooked dinner between us, and we've had a lovely chat while doing so.
