I think I love my cat just a little too much...

I'm ill, I'm cold, I'm cuddled up in bed with my purry hot water bottle and I suddenly started crying about how much I loved her. Then she licked my tears and I cried even more thinking about what it's going to be like when she dies.

She's 6 ffs.

I'm 42 ffffs

She is the bestest most beautiful cat in the whole of the known universe and beyond. Of course. Sometimes I just look at her face, and her perfect whiskers, and THOSE PAWS Bear

I'm ridiculous. (When I typed in I'm, the next word it wanted me to use was 'Single'. Which I am. Probably because I'm over invested in my cat. Did I tell you she has the cutest little heart nose?)

Get a grip - YABU
Get another cat - YANBU

I’d have said yabu but you’re poorly so hope the cuddles you’re having help you feel better soon. Wishing you a speedy recovery Flowers

@RedSquirrel111

A best boy lives here too! My purry, furry friend

Also 42 single and loving it 😊

My nieces call the cat uncle 😂

LuluBlakey1 · 23/12/2021 19:36

You can never love a cat too much.

DroopyClematis · 23/12/2021 19:37

My darling tabby lived to 20.
She couldn't have cared less about us.
Aloof, distant and thoroughly unfriendly.
Always skidaddled when anything happened in the house ... eg new sofa, table, wardrobe etc... and we wouldn't see her for days.

If she wanted a scrunge then she'd suddenly appear for a quick one then disappear.

We had slatted banisters until recently.
Our darling cat would wait for one of us to walk down the stairs first then would poke her paw through the slats to , in effect, give us a high five. Every day. Every time.

Miss her so much. It's been six years.

Noseylittlemoo · 23/12/2021 19:40

My cat was also the best . He had such a cute little character . He was the most affectionate cat ever the way he used to sit on me was like a baby and I'm sure he liked to be close enough to hear my heart beat.
He didn't really meow - it was more like a yap that sounded like "yeh" so we'd have little conversations "do you want your breakfast? " "yeh" . Was it nice ? Yeh. Mainly food related as he was a greedy thing! My heart broke when he had to be pts 2 weeks ago - he was only 2.5 years old 😪

One of my 3 furry friends (overlords). They’re all adored by both me and my 2 DDs. My DH wasn’t really a cat person but he knew from the start that he would be sharing me with at least one furry friend! Grin

Definitely YANBU!!

My old boy isn't a looker, standard black and white moggy but I'll never forget when I went into labour at 2am and he sat at my feet and wouldn't leave me (it was early labour and I didn't wake DH in case it was a false alarm). He also gets in a mood with us if we go away for the weekend and won't talk to us for a couple of days when we get back.

HumourReplacementTherapy · 23/12/2021 19:53

We were watching I'm a celebrity recently and it was the episode where they got letters from home, they were all bawling & v v sad 😭
I asked DH who he'd miss the most and he said the cat (bloody meant it too GrinGrinGrin)
He said he was also planning on sneaking dcat in as his luxury item.

Ah, the 'so you're finally home, are you?' sulk...Keeps us in our place! Grin

@Anystarinthesky

I don't know why people say cats are aloof, none of mine have been. My Dcat loves to lie across my chest for a cuddle then settles down on the pillow beside me. She likes her little chats too. I love my Dcat, I always feel better when she is there.
Betsy is so bloody aloof! She hates being touched, sits on my knee maybe twice a year, literally detests humans and looks at us as if we are evil torturers. She won't go outside and is scared of her own shadow. But then my 17 year old walks in and she turns into Jessica rabbit. Standing up on back legs to kiss her. She actually stands at the door crying for her until she comes downstairs and takes her up to her room.

I also have ivy who is a proper little love bug so she makes up for Betsy hating me.

This is actually too cute for my heart to deal with
Cerridwen83 · 23/12/2021 23:18

My beautiful darling girl is 10 next year and I honestly think she is the most beautiful cat I've ever seen! I know I'm biased.
I also can't imagine life without her. She's the funniest, sweetest affectionate little love.
She's the apple of my eye Smile

Queenie6655 · 23/12/2021 23:40

YANBU. Get more cats, trust me. I'm the same I have 3.... still room in my heart for more one day. Grin

DressingPafe · 24/12/2021 10:49

I am ridiculously excited for tomorrow, as my cats presents are wrapped under the Christmas tree (in Santa cat wrapping paper!) and I know they’ll love them. They will also love playing with the ribbons and bows Grin They are absolutely my babies. They give me so much love that I can forgive any mischief they get up to.

Astrak · 24/12/2021 11:12

In July this year, my lovely Madam Kat had kidney failure and had to be pts.
A dear friend found a scruffy abandoned cat and asked me to "look after him for a bit . . " . That was mid-October. He's fast asleep, wrapped up over his tabby tummy, keeping me company whilst I'm being bored with being in bed with a streaming cold.

Suffice to say, he's going nowhere!

Am currently mulling over if aliens told me I could only save a finite number of 'loved ones' how many humans I pick before her.
I think it's 2. Maybe 3 at a push.

I'm the same. I was crying yesterday because my cat Buns who died aged 20 in February won't be here to share my rice pudding at xmas. She always loved rice pudding.
My current cat Isis doesn't like human food!

RedSquirrel111 · 27/12/2021 15:09

Best cat ever has just sicked up a fur ball on my pillow. She's been demoted.
