I'm ill, I'm cold, I'm cuddled up in bed with my purry hot water bottle and I suddenly started crying about how much I loved her. Then she licked my tears and I cried even more thinking about what it's going to be like when she dies.

She's 6 ffs.

She is the bestest most beautiful cat in the whole of the known universe and beyond. Of course. Sometimes I just look at her face, and her perfect whiskers, and THOSE PAWS

I'm ridiculous. (When I typed in I'm, the next word it wanted me to use was 'Single'. Which I am. Probably because I'm over invested in my cat. Did I tell you she has the cutest little heart nose?)

YANBU OP. I literally gave birth to my cats and NOBODY will tell me any different. They are my babies and utterly and rightly adored as such.

It's not possible to love your cat too much and I say that as a dog person. Pets deserve total devotion for all the years of devotion they give you as your pet.

I am utterly besotted with my cats, it drives poor DP potty as he knows he is last in the pecking order!

Their needs come before my own. I do actually get anxious about the fact that one day they won't be with me. I can't sleep unless they're both on the bed safe with me at night. Luckily they both also prefer it!

Boycat went missing for 2 weeks in 2020 and it was absolutely awful. I spent every waking minute I wasn't working looking for him. DP says he worried for my mental health. Thank god I eventually found him, but it's made me something of a "helicopter cat parent" since. They both now have gps trackers!

I have three cats and I absolutely adore them. They're my life. I don't know what I'd do without them.

This is my eldest cat, Lily. She loves being pampered 😄

I feel the exact same about my little cat, when she looks at me right in the eye then she just makes my heart melt and I worry about her but I think it’s mostly to do with my anxiety, cats are also anxious little creatures but they don’t seem to be as empathetic as dogs, or they just don’t show it as much!

Aw bless you. I love cats. Definitely getting cats to replace DC when they are older and have flown the nest.

Awww your cat sounds lovely! Cats are so precious. I'm currently watching my two 6 month old kittens playing in their mini ball pit and chasing the escaped balls around the room and it's bringing me so much joy. After 3 years without a cat its glorious to have them in our home again. We also have a very loved dog, but the relationship with cats is just different.

Sending lots of cat hugs. They are such special little beings aren’t they? It may be too soon but would you consider a kitten in time? I found the mischief and mayhem distracted me from the sadness. Not a replacement and you never forget but it just brings you out of your grief a little x

I feel like that about my cat, but I feel the same about all animals.
Like when I opened an old cupboard in my shed yesterday and I saw two field mice cuddled up asleep on my old gardening gloves - I felt that love for them.

Absolutely love that your little one is looking after you whilst you’re feeling unwell. I really think cats can sense that stuff.

Our two are crazy young cats but so affectionate, both with us and with eachother. They melt my heart and I love them SO MUCH!!

I don't know why people say cats are aloof, none of mine have been.
My Dcat loves to lie across my chest for a cuddle then settles down on the pillow beside me. She likes her little chats too.
I love my Dcat, I always feel better when she is there.
