DS and I are starving! Invited her for lunch today, then this mornign she said she'd be here about 1.30 - for that, read 2pm

I just can't wait! Will make her a bacon butty when she arrives

Am I awful?

No I don't think that's so bad, if you and ds are starving I'm sure she won't mind.

MamaG · 20/12/2007 12:57

but I might waste away...!

Feed ds, but you should wait for your mum. Have a little snacklet to keep yoiu going until she arrives.

love2sleep · 20/12/2007 13:02

what's wrong with having two lunches?

tis the season to overeat...

Ineedacleaner · 20/12/2007 13:20

If 1.30 is actually 2pm with your mum then sorry I don't think you are unreasonable.

I am punctual to a fault and I hate lateness, better than dh he hates puntuality prefers 10 minutes early and I would probably get to 1.30 be starving and eat.

Magrat · 20/12/2007 13:25

I don't think 1.30 or 2pm is lunchtime .. particularly if you have kids personally

I think 12 or 1 is ok

but being invited to lunch and saying you'll be there at 1.30 and turning up at 2 is just obnoxious but you should have said at the time

I'd eat

tell her it was too late to wait and make her a sarnie

WashSantasRedSuitErsaurus · 20/12/2007 13:25

Blimey, I'd have just tucked into some biscuits without a thought . I rarely make it to midday without having lunch, never mind 2pm!

MamaG · 20/12/2007 13:40

still not here

I have had a snack

We have lunch at around 12 here most of the time, we'd all be starving by 2pm! Dinner is around 5pm though so eating at 2 would be too close to dinner.

Ubergeekian · 20/12/2007 16:53

How's she going to know if you've scarfed a bacon butty before she arrives?
