Help! I've got Covid and I'm stuck in a hotel

I travelled to Plymouth for Christmas and did all the right stuff. I'm double jabbed, booster booked for early Jan and have been doing lateral flow tests every day to stay safe and protect others.

This morning, I woke up coughing, sneezing and with chest pains and my LF is positive.

I'm stuck in a hotel with no way of getting home! I live in Bournemouth and my fiance (who was going to meet me Christmas Eve) has also tested positive.

Does anyone have any bright ideas or am I stuck in a hotel room for ten days? I'm devastated. I just want to go home :(

Sometimes, you just have to do what you have to do. My DH tested positive at work. He couldn’t stay at work, he had gone by public transport. He had no other option but to get the train

Any of you bright sparks had covid? It can be pretty bad and driving isn’t an option in many cases!!! You’ll all get jabs to save your lives from the “killer disease” lol but then you all expect this fiancé to drive and get her. Hypocrites!!!! Truly amazing.

What happens in hotels like a real cheap travelodge that doesn't have food on site etc and you want to do isolation there for 10 days - how do you get any food??

Since you are not allowed to take public transport or even a taxi and you cannot drive, you must notify the hotel that you have tested positive, and self-isolate there unless they demand you leave. Even if this means paying for additional nights. That is the law as I understand it.

For every meal? For 10 days? What takeaway do you get for breakfast? Who delivers it? What about drinks?

I've so many questions about this! Quarantine hotels I get, they're set up. But getting stranded in a cheap travellodge with no provisions is a totally different situation.

You're not stuck. Get up, wear a mask, go home.

Could you get on a train late at night hopefully in an empty carriage ?

Is there anyway you could get a hire car with contactless drop off to hotel? They aren't that expensive.

I absolutely would not be getting on a train or bus. Could you really do that, knowing that you were potentially infecting dozens of people? 🤦🏼‍♀️
