I could live without just about anything but cheese. I love it 😍

MedusasBadHairDay · 15/12/2021 15:22

Are you partial to Halloumi? I've heard that's not very cheese like but I don't dare try it

I haven't tried it, I've just assumed I won't like it tbh.

Amusingly for my family my absolute favourite dessert is cheesecake though 😂

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 15/12/2021 15:23

You are absolutely NOT unreasonable! It stinks has a horrible texture, and is used as a cheap filler in every bloody meal. I wish I did like it as it reduces my eating out options.

Classica · 15/12/2021 15:26

I love most cheeses but can see why one might not. The thought of drinking a glass of milk completely icks me out, but I'm fine with ice-cream.

So we can all have our dairy foibles.

YANBU.

HoseMeDownWithHolyWater · 15/12/2021 15:28

I don't understand the hype with Maltesers. Boring and overrated.

emmetgirl · 15/12/2021 15:29

I LOVE CHEESE!!!! 😂😂

CounsellorTroi · 15/12/2021 15:29

Cheese is the food of the gods.

See, I love cheese, of all sorts (although there are a few I don't like). I come from a family of cheese lovers.

DH also loves cheese.

But the rest of his family either only have it grated on pizza, or not at all, kind of relationship with it.

To me, that is just like me hating (utter abhorrance!) swede. And there are also issues for various family members with intolerances and allergies as well.

So - meh.

Some places we have cheese on occasion.

In others, it never crosses the threshold.

If we are hosting, we will have cheese for some groups, or cheese as an ingredient in some dishes - but for other groups, it will not form any part of the menu.

No big deal.

A cheese board is just a board full of disappointment for me 😂

Try Babybel

All cheese is disgusting and I find the obsession with it ridiculous. I'd love a toastie occasionally in Costa with my coffee but no, everything is covered in cheese! And yes, you can do amazing toasties WITHOUT BLOODY CHEESE.

pigsDOfly · 15/12/2021 16:03

Try Babybel

Well, that's enough to put anyone off cheese for life; nasty rubbery processed stuff.

I love cheese but given that I find it addictive I tend not to buy it because I need to keep my cholesterol level down and there's only me here to eat it.

Can't help myself so I do buy the odd bit of goats' cheese from time to time.

waterlego · 15/12/2021 16:13

YAB completely U.

Cheese is everything.

Who the hell decided that the only way to server a burger was to include cheese on it? Went to a fancy (alleged) gourmet burger joint recently, asked for a burger without cheese, was told 'that's the way they came and the cheese could not be removed'.

Wannabegreenfingers · 15/12/2021 16:39

You are faulty. Cheese is life Grin

WeAreTheHeroes · 15/12/2021 16:43

Why on earth would you be unreasonable to dislike a food? I can't stand fennel but I don't assume a bunch of strangers on the internet could give a fig.

PartyPrawnRingGames · 15/12/2021 16:55

YABVVVVVVVVVVVU it's one of my main Christmas essentials along with coffee, chocolate, mincepies, lebkuchen, more coffee, Baileys and my namesake luxury prawn ring. I mean I am not against a Bacon roll though don't get me wrong but cheese gets its own fridge shelf in Dec and that's how it will always be in this house. As for dessert noone will ever convince me Tiramisu is not the best so don't even bother trying.
