What would you go for?

I think I’d be Indian, so much diversity, southern Indian fish curries, northern vegetarian curries, chaat, parathas, biryianis

Italy - love pasta !

RovenderKitt · 11/12/2021 21:18

French - all those cheeses! And Champagne

lazylinguist · 11/12/2021 21:20

French I think. Wheat doesn't agree with me so well these days, which would put me off picking Italian (obviously it's a varied cuisine, but pizza and pasta would be a loss!).

Justheretoaskaquestion91 · 11/12/2021 21:21

The thing is I would like to say Greek because I think it would do me good and it’s delicious but if I’m being honest and following my heart it would be Italian food because of pesto. And pasta. And crema di pistachio. And gnocchi. And gelato. All the carbs. All the things. Mmmmmm

Butteredtoast55 · 11/12/2021 21:21

I think British, especially if it's EVERY meal...can't imagine Indian, Mexican or Chinese for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

DorothyZbornakIsAQueen · 11/12/2021 21:23

Greek

Arethechildreninbedyet · 11/12/2021 21:23

At the end of the day, as boring as it makes me I’d have to say English is up there.

Chips
Stew
Hot Pot
Shepherd’s pie
Rice pudding
Fish and Chips
Pies
Mash
Cornish Pasty
Sausage and Mash
All the puddings

mintsalad · 11/12/2021 21:23

Afghan food. It definitely needs more exposure!

Arethechildreninbedyet · 11/12/2021 21:23

Cauliflower fucking cheese. I’m done. English all the way.

VirgilStarkwell · 11/12/2021 21:24

Indian I think.

If my devoted personal chef would serve up a wholesome fragrant veggie dish twice a day, I’d be very happy with that.

Variations on lentil dhal, chickpeas, aubergines, mushrooms, spinach, cauliflower, Bombay potatoes, brown basmati rice, etc.

Yum yum yum.

Perhaps occasional added eggs/chicken/lamb/fish/prawns if carefully sourced. I need all the nutrients I can get.

Mammyloveswine · 11/12/2021 21:24

British! Lots of variety... soups, stews, roast dinner, fish and chips, salmon with jersey royal potatoes and asparagus.. pie and mash... salads..

LesLavandes · 11/12/2021 21:25

Italian

BarbaraofSeville · 11/12/2021 21:27

@WhenTheDragonsCame

Only one? 🤔

Italian

No! Indian

No! Mexican

No! Greek

This is too difficult!

Exactly. Picking an Eastern Mediterranaen country would probably be easiest because you'd have all the mixed mezze type stuff that would cover meat, salad, fish, bread, dips, prawns, squid, pulses, hummus etc that you could stretch as far as Greece and Spain with the gambas and calamari type foods, but then you'd obviously miss out on the other stuff.

I could probably get it down to a Med country and Indian but wouldn't be able to decide between the two.

Forion · 11/12/2021 21:28

Definitely Indian.

Pbbananabagel · 11/12/2021 21:29

For variety it’s gotta be Italian over Indian - the dessert selection swings it for me

Theworldisquiethere · 11/12/2021 21:38

Mexican

marvellousnightforamooncup · 11/12/2021 21:40

Italy or Greece. I think Greek salad wins though.

LowlandLucky · 11/12/2021 21:44

The whole weird Scottish Greek fusion that i grew up with.

Libertaire · 11/12/2021 21:49

Germany, specifically Bavaria. Meat, bread, potatoes, beer. That’s all four of your essential food groups accounted for.

What more could you want? Grin

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 11/12/2021 21:54

Thai - as a pp said, delicate, light and fragrant. So much variety and so delicious

I’d settle for anything South East Asian though

Definitely not French or Italian though

LynetteScavo · 11/12/2021 21:58

I would say Indian.. but I'd struggle with breakfast.

I don't often opt for British cuisine if we eat out...but I do think I'd have to go for British Pescatarian. Or French. Which is sad because I bloody love fish curry. It's a very difficult question.

The cheese question is much easier. I would only eat French cheese. DH would only eat British.

kwiksavenofrillsusername · 11/12/2021 22:02

Mexican. There’s not enough good Mexican in the UK. I could eat huevos rancheros every morning for breakfast, a big fat torta for lunch, and still have lots of choices for dinner. I’d probably get gigantic though.

meadowbleu · 11/12/2021 22:05

Modern British because it's so eclectic.

Whosthebestbabainalltheworld · 11/12/2021 22:06

Irish - who wouldn’t want to eat pigs feet forever Grin

Auntieobem · 11/12/2021 22:07

Greek, no doubt at all
