I have often wondered what they have tried

my dog used to lick his willy, he was a huge dog and it was a real slurping loud sickmaking sound that used to put my teeth on edge. It made me really sensitive to any sort of licking sounds - not good

My cat used to do that thing where they kneed witth their paws and suckle, drove me to distraction, all that tu tu tu tu or however it sounded.

Fortunately my dog is only little now, and he hasnt quite discovered himself!

My cat used to bum shuffle as well. ie, she would drag herself along the carpet spreading her gland juice everywhere, eugh!

I also can't bear other people's eating noises. DP does this thing sometimes where he breathes in while chewing or will talk to me with a mouthful of food and that's right up there with the cat licking for making me want to poke my own eyes out.

Our cat had excema and he used to make a gurgling gnawing chewing noise too.

Actually it's been a few years since we had a pet and I was starting to mellow into the idea again after much nagging from the dc.

Remembering the gnawing has just put me back a few years on the whole idea.

get a rabbit, clean, look after themselves and look everso cute, licking their paws and then washing their ears!

I have an irrational dislike of the cat (or humans come to that) having sleep in her eyes so I'm always wiping them for her (one of her eyes is prone to being runny when she gets a cold or is cold so it's a bit of a ongoing task). At least I can't hear the sleep though . It's bad enough seeing it. Maybe I should have become a cat optician .
