Teenage girls are total dicks

They really are. Selfish hormone driven cock wombles.

I think they should all be forced to live on an island and only be allowed to return when they are sane.

AIBU??

what a disgusting misogynistic post. No wonder your daughters act up if this is how you view them

Completely agree. Horrible to read page after page of internalised misogyny. Probably from the kind of women who say things like "I'd hate to have a female boss" and "i just get on better with men, women are so bitchy". Grim.

Well if it makes you feel any better...I have a teenage son who is absolutely vile most of the time!
Hoppinggreen · 26/11/2021 10:27

My 16 year old is wonderful and I’m not even sorry.
It’s probably just luck though

RockinHorseShit · 26/11/2021 10:28

Urgh, the joyless Pearl clutches are out in force. 🤢

Lighten up you miserable feckers, letting off steam & laughing when dealing with difficult teens is bloody good for our MH & perfectly reasonable

QueenofKattegat · 26/11/2021 10:31

The last thing I could be described as is a pearl clutcher but this thread is a textbook exercise in internalised misogyny. Crack on though.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 26/11/2021 10:38

Have to say though my boys have been a delight through toddler and teenage years

Dd i think is much too like me

Teenage girls are total dicks
RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 26/11/2021 10:38

Oh bum….its wonky

But its there, I suppose thats a bonus

hollielouise66 · 26/11/2021 10:42

I feel like that too @JayAlfredPrufrock Smile

Aposterhasnoname · 26/11/2021 10:44

Ohhhhhh yes. And to all the smug “mine aren’t” give it time.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 26/11/2021 10:46

No

I’m sure some are but my teenage girl is lovely

Teenagers are the most amazing people to talk to - they have such optimistic, deeply held opinions ans aren’t totally jaded with the world yet, or too bowed down with domestic stress to think about politics etc

Mandate · 26/11/2021 10:51

I have three teenage daughters and they are great. Some people are dicks, some are not

SoupDragon · 26/11/2021 10:51

😂😂😂

Just accept that some teenagers aren't like that. For whatever reason, some simply aren't.

thisplaceisweird · 26/11/2021 10:52

I cringe when I think how awful I was. I'm so glad I had boys!

Cornettoninja · 26/11/2021 10:58

I was a complete dick, but it does make me more empathetic to teenagers now. They’ve got all the cringe to come Grin

I would say teenage boys have the potential to be just as dickish once the hormones kick in and the rules/responsibilities around them start changing. It’s a personality thing rather than a gender thing I think.

Peccary · 26/11/2021 11:00

I was a lovely teenager I'm told, I really hope karma exists.... Got 6 or so years to brace myself if not. I'll probably be menopausal at the same time so that's going to be fun for everyone

kings230966 · 26/11/2021 11:01

My daughter was a horror from about 4 yrs to 10 yrs. She just turned 16 and I have to say she's delightful 95% of the time.

I'm so grateful she's nothing like me when I was her age!😁

bumbleymummy · 26/11/2021 11:02

I think teens in general are a nightmare. It’s not specific to girls. Hormones make people act terribly. It does suck Flowers

Strangevipers · 26/11/2021 11:05

Correct

ILoveHuskies · 26/11/2021 11:33

@Hoppinggreen

It probably is luck tbh

All my 3 were really easy babies and toddlers, and also mostly lovely as small children. If I'm honest I did believe it was down to my superior parenting, makes me cringe looking back

Now two of them are really difficult teens, I'm not so convinced 🥴🥴

sst1234 · 26/11/2021 12:04

Why blame bad behaviour from girls and women on hormones? Nothing to do with hormone, if you make it acceptable for your children to treat you badly, it’s not their hormones that are the problem.

This! Bore off or move on if you don't relate. No one is forcing you on the thread! Personally, I've got a lot of solidarity out of this, so thanks OP!
ILoveHuskies · 26/11/2021 12:10

@whatsthpoint glad it's helped you Thanks it's really helped me too and a lot of others I think

It certainly makes me feel less alone

Perhaps we could have an ongoing support thread for mums of teen girls ? (Only half joking!!)

TarasCrazyTiara · 26/11/2021 12:11

@Mistlewoeandwhine

I think in general teenage boys tend to act out worse in school - it’s more of a teenage girl thing to have the consistent catty and emotional behaviour at home. At least that was true for me and others I know. The challenge with teenage boys is you have no idea what the hell they get up to until they’re in trouble.

TarasCrazyTiara · 26/11/2021 12:13

@GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing

Yeah, they do say some dumb stuff don’t they?

Cornettoninja · 26/11/2021 12:16

Why blame bad behaviour from girls and women on hormones?

Because it’s a factor? It’s true for boys too.

At the other end of the scale menopause causes issues for lots of women and there’s growing evidence that men experience an equivalent due to depleting hormone levels. Hormones matter.
