To ask for a warm cruelty free parka

Writing here for traffic. Please suggest me a warm no animal parka. I would prefer knee length, slim fit. I am also short with 159 cm, so if you are around my height, do you have recommendations for brands or models you prefer?

Thank you so much in advance. I spent hours looking online. My budget is about £300.

Not got a specific coat, but PrimaLoft is a very good synthetic down alternative, so perhaps use that in your searches.

Teaandlipstick · 22/11/2021 15:19

Thank you, will check Smile

I asked this a few months back and had no response - so place marking :)

GrrrlPwr · 22/11/2021 15:34

Uniqlo has some completely synthetic coats.

SerendipitySunshine · 22/11/2021 15:41

Didriksons are great.

Paddingtonthebear · 22/11/2021 15:46

I have a fab coat from Aigle

Paddingtonthebear · 22/11/2021 15:46

I returned both a Finisterre and a Fjallraven coat in favour of the Aigle. All are great quality though

EerieSilence · 22/11/2021 15:51

Cruelty-free .. do you mean "vegan" or one that doesn't come from a factory where workers work for over 12 hours with no weekends for a penny and get sexually assaulted by their bosses?

Pinkywoo · 22/11/2021 15:51

I have the long duvet coat from Monki which is 100% synthetic, it's ridiculously warm and mid calf on me (I'm the same height as you).

RusholmeRuffian · 22/11/2021 16:01

Fjallraven or Patagonia

HarrietsChariot · 22/11/2021 16:03

Buy secondhand from a charity shop. Any cruelty in how it was made has been washed away by the first buyer and the next buyer is guilt free.

Mercurial123 · 22/11/2021 16:35

I have a Prima Loft parka from Icelandic brand 66 North, it's excellent quality. Bought it in the sale a couple of years ago for around £250.

Mercurial123 · 22/11/2021 16:44

Otrium have a Filipa K one which looks good with 20% off. It's a good place to buy discounted designer clothes.

This completely.

Look on Vinted/eBay, you can get some fantastic deals and easily pick up something that’s new or barely worn.

MorrisZapp · 22/11/2021 16:46

I have sent away to Amsterdam for a parka from the brand Embassy of Bricks and Cloth. Costs 300 quid but I can't wait to get my mitts on it. Mine is just a bum coverer but they have longer length options too. Rubbish at links but will screen shot...

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 22/11/2021 16:48

Didrikson. Synthetic fillings and fake fur.

Arethechildreninbedyet · 22/11/2021 16:50

Also bear in mind if it’s ‘cruelty free’ it will be synthetic which will be an non-degradable material which is far worse for the planet than down.

MorrisZapp · 22/11/2021 16:51

Apologies, the brand is Embassy of Bricks and Logs. Also apologies for the ludicrous styling in the pic, I have seen this jacket in real life and it is AMAZING

Another vote for Didrikson - the cosiest parka I've ever owned!

LabiaMinoraPissusFlapus · 22/11/2021 17:16

Didrikson are very warm and no animal products

Teaandlipstick · 23/11/2021 07:58

@EerieSilence, where birds are not hung upside down with their throat slits

Thank you all Smile Will check these labels.
Has anyone tried Save the duck jackets?

OP posts:
Teaandlipstick · 23/11/2021 08:09

@MorrisZapp that jacket is nice. But I am only 159, I am afraid it may not look too round in it.

@Teaandlipstick, i.e. you only apply the cruelty brand to animals but don't give a damn about how the workers are treated in the factory where it was produced? In that case you have a very wide range of products.
