To never buy a bloody dyson again

Bought one of those hand held cordless dysons last year- can’t remember which one but OMG it’s a bag of shit. Charge is about 10 mins- gets clogged up with hair and is utterly shit. Massive regret.

Aibu to never buy one again? So overrated and so shit!

We’ve just switched from a Dyson to a shark. My God the amount of shit the shark got up made me gag. I’d never buy a dyson again!

Love my dyson cordless. Recently tried a shark cordless, now thats one big heavy ass piece of s#$t right there! Sent it back and got a refund after a week

Two of my nephews worked for household appliance shop & said that the cellars were full of broken Dysons. I've had two & would never buy one again.

We had a cordless Dyson and it was embarrassingly bad. Now I’ve got a corded Miele and it’s embarrassingly good. It nearly lifts the carpet off the house if I don’t turn it right down, but it’s a brilliant hoover. I don’t think there’s such a thing as a cordless that’ll do a full house, especially with young children/pets living in it, on one charge with good suction.

Slowdownandsee · 21/11/2021 23:44

My cordless dyson was useless even on full charge wouldn’t be long before it would drop crumbs etc straight back out of the nozzle thingy when you put it down switched off but my older proper plug in pull along behind you dyson bit like the Henry design in that regard? ….. that one is still going strong, when it’s finished though i doubt I will buy another as the cordless one has really put me off them.

@user0176

After 2 Dysons and a Shark (the Shark being by far the worst) I've gone back to a Henry. Pain in the arse to lug around the house but less maintenance and actually works without needing to be replaced every 12 months.
Totally agree. Actually, mine is a Hetty, which is a bit smaller, but it sucks - my does it suck!!!! - and has never given me an trouble. Bag is huge, so hardly ever needs changing.

As for Dyson, I vowed never to by another one when he moved his manufacturing plants to Asia. Not to mention his Brexit hypocrisy Angry

Honestly what a triumph of marketing. I passionately despise the useless products. More so now I know what a creep James Dyson is.

Doubledoorsontogarden · 22/11/2021 09:35

Cross posted with loads of people! Shark is ordered now, my robotic (eufy) died , I don’t have a cordless currently…

nannybeach · 22/11/2021 09:37

Shark pet,2 long haired dogs love it. 2 Dyson previously, good but not worth the money

Sh05 · 22/11/2021 10:07

If it's less than 2 years old phone them up and tell them your issues, they'll send a replacement battery and other parts if they're faulty.
I use my cordless Dyson everyday for the whole of downstairs and stairs. Lasts 20 minutes and that's enough.
When I first got it I had just switched from a corded one so wasn't very pleased with this new one but we've got used to it now.

Twillow · 22/11/2021 10:10

Flippin' love our cordless Dyson. Got battery fade after 2 years, bought a replacement battery from Ebay for £20, now good as new!

TrampolineForMrKite · 22/11/2021 10:10

Yep, absolute rubbish. We sold ours on eBay after a few months. Almost made the full cost back too.

daimbarsatemydogsbone · 22/11/2021 10:17

We must be filthy buggers - still using our Dyson from 20 years ago, still works. Not sure what's going to persuade us to buy a cordless one.

WeRateSquirrels · 22/11/2021 10:21

My cordless Dyson easily does the whole house (large house, with pets). It's a year old and the only time it ever ran out of battery is when I forgot to plug it in. Never clogs up either.

Nearly bought a Shark based on all the love on here, but the reviews in the real world did not reflect that at all.

daimbarsatemydogsbone · 22/11/2021 10:47

@WeAllHaveWings

Shark is the worst vacuum I have ever owned. Wish I could get an old style dyson, they were great and mine lasted 15 years.
Loads of old Dysons on eBay etc
Okbutnotgreat · 22/11/2021 17:08

Totally agree the older cordless Dysons are limited but the V15 really is a different machine altogether and you just can’t compare.
