AND (I'm on a roll here) - bearing in mind Leona is at no.1 atm, is Rhydian going to dislodge her? Probably a shared audience/market. But all the kids would want a SD record in their stocking.

I dont like them, I think they are crap. But thats just my opinion. As far as weird goes, don't know about that. Just cant get past thinking they are crap.

Has anyone seen The Fly? NOT the Jeff Goldblum remake, but the original 1950's film (where the wife is taken away to a mental institution - I have huge empathetic feelings for her)............ well it ends with a tiny man's head on a tiny fly's body in a spider's web, squeaking 'help me help me'. That is how I see Same Difference, squeaking away in a giant web 'help us help us' after the public have chewed them up and spat them out and their robotic microchips have been removed from the backs of their mini-heads so they can no longer perform...

I hope Rhydian doesn't win - he will become another 'into oblivion male singer'. Like the rest of them. And his voice annoys me - if you've got an operatic voice then do shows or opera, I don't like it in pop. And I hated his Queen cover the other week. Too mannered for me.

And Leon is dull dull dull

Rhydian will have a better career if he DOESN'T win imo, as he won't be tied to Simon Cowell's label, making albums of covers, he will be free to actually pursue the direction he wants to go in. Whereas Same Difference are IDEALLY suited to being tied to a label doing covers!

Rhydian annoys me too. Opera is great, opertic tones in the voice can be great in some pop songs, but fgs, don't sing EVERYTHING in an operatic tone.

the winner is only tied to simon cowell for the one album though. pretty much until the next series of x factor. after that they're out on their own.

same difference will never sell. imo it's mostly their family that are voting for them. and the parish from whence they came .

Same Difference with careful song choices could really sell to the 6-12 age range I think. Covers of disney things, a comic relief song etc - not vintage pop, but saleable.

If Rhydian or Leon wins, then SC has the problem of pitting them against Shayne Ward who I think is still signed to them (though I suspect about to be dropped).

I also think he doesn't WANT a megastar - he wants to pitch Leona as the 'megastar discovered by X Factor' - he wants a nice usable act that will shift the records and make a nice profit. If X Factor is Property Ladder, Leona Lewis is the 'huge makeover, tumbledown property that nets them 100k profit', Same difference is the 'quick buy, tart it up, sell it 8 weeks later for 25k profit to cover the bills'. Mind you, that would make Dermot O'Leary Sarah Beeny....what a thought!

Same Difference are PANTS!!! They cannot sing (well, no better than any Butlins redcoat or holiday club rep, anyway)!

And um... who says musicians (I use the word advisedly in the case of SD - wish it stood for Sound Dip) have to be role models? I like Amy Winehouse's music, but I also have a brain in my head and would not consider walking down the street at midnight in just a bra for a top a good look - and can't offhand think of anyone else who would, no matter how young and impressionable.

I agree that Simon Cowell is cynically targeting the High School Musical crowd, and no doubt will make some money from them, but come on, these two are bland, bland, bland and, considering the name of the show - X Factor? - they should not have made it past the first auditions.

Also the girl appears to have no neck (that or it's U-shaped, because her head is always dipped somewhere down by her shoulders). And that's just wrong.

YANBU I find their pathetic phone-in hand gestures when its voting time and pleading to the tv audience disconcerting..... HOW they do not know this is pitiful beats me as they do it week after week....
