After years of complaining about our heating bills, DH has suddenly discovered, now he's working from home, that our house gets pretty bloody nippy in the winter, and is merrily whacking the thermostat up whenever he feels the slightest chill.

I have no problem at all putting the heating on when people are cold. I hate being cold. However: HE REFUSES TO WEAR ANYTHING MORE THAN A BLOODY T-SHIRT AROUND THE HOUSE! He's tried to claim it's a "warm" t-shirt. WELL CLEARLY IT'S NOT DH, OR YOU WOULDN'T BE SODDING WELL COLD!!!

Ah well. At least the fire of my fury is keeping me nice and toasty. 😆

@G5000 - I agree, I knew how this thread would go as soon as I started reading it.

@Winniemarysarah - I think I might be your long-lost twin 😅 I'm not even sure where any of my socks are. I can't bear things on my feet. I don't like long sleeves or anything high up on my chest as I feel like I'm suffocating. I've also got large breasts and I find long sleeves pull awkwardly and never sit properly. I recently discovered woollen ponchos instead of coats and they have been a revelation as no horrible sleeves!

Aside from my own issues with clothing, DS is autistic, and I can't get any clothes on him. Ever. He is 12 and is usually only wearing a nappy.

Our house is warmer than most. I'm conscientious about energy usage in other ways and I do whatever I can to be environmentally friendly. I often sit under a blanket on the sofa in the evening because it feels cosy but I can't wrap one round me while I'm typing during the day.

There's a really sanctimonious attitude on here towards heating. If you're comfortable wearing multiple jumpers in a cold home then that's great. I'm not. Even if I put up with the discomfort of wearing clothing that feels awful, my face and nose gets cold. I don't like it and I'm not constantly living in what feels to me like a cold place. I'll happily pay my high heating costs to be comfortable.

I seem to really vary between being mega cold and not Confused
11c outside today, I have a vest and jumper on and the window open while I'm sat working and it's about 16c
Other times I have a heated blanket! Heating I have on 20c at the very max

Definitely not BU!

I wear a jumper, dressing gown and slipper socks in the house all through winter. Would make no sense to me to keep the heating up - and I don't like how dry it makes the air either
