Hi all, so basically i am in a rut at the moment, i have lost altogether 65lb over 5 years and i am stuck at 160lb.
I am 5'9 and i am starting to obsess about how i look, my DH keeps saying the usual "you look fine babe" but i need some perspective.. what do we think? Fat or not? All i see is fat! Currently a 14 bottom 12 top and sick and tired of it

You look amazing to me. I'm 5'7" and weigh 125lb and am probably too skinny, but I've been 85lb before and still thought I was fat. I look at pictures now and it is clear I was far too skinny. Body dysmoprhia is a real thing. Hopefully this thread will help you realise you look great.

FlibbertyGibbitt · 13/11/2021 18:38

I’m as tall as you, you don’t want to get too thin. You look fab 🥳

480Widdio · 13/11/2021 18:41

You look amazing, your husband is correct.

SingSweetNightingale · 13/11/2021 18:42

You really don’t look like a 14 on the bottom, more like a 10-12!
You look amazing x

Lizzyketo · 13/11/2021 18:45

Unfortunately i don't have any photos of myself heavier, every single one got thrown out, as then I felt ashamed i had ended up that way, its a pity now i am older and wiser i wish i had kept them as i am missing pictures of my past, and to answer samwitwicky literally just stopped eating rubbish! I now only eat wholegrains, veg and lean protein, and walk walk walk. Although recently i have tried keto, it was very tough but found out that carbs really don't suit me!

@Lizzyketo you have an amazing figure. I wish that I had a waist like yours. You look great, own it honey and congratulations for the weight loss.

Allusernamesalreadyused · 13/11/2021 18:51

I really think you look great. Am so envious of that fantastic waist and tummy.
Be proud girl😊

handsoffmychips · 13/11/2021 18:52

bloody nora OP.... I'm a size 8 and look like a particularly gaunt ironing board....I would LOVE to look like you. Your waist is stunning! You don't look fine - you look fabulous!

QuornSausagesAreTheDevilsPenis · 13/11/2021 18:53

You look fabulous. Im the same height as you but about 40lbs heavier. I'm fitter than I've been in years and comfortable in my own skin, but no way would I have the confidence to post a picture of myself in my undies even if my head wasn't in the shot!

Whatdoihavetodo · 13/11/2021 18:53

You look amazing, perfect hourglass figure, that waist! I know what u mean about not seeing what others see, You see the old you,

Show that waist off and well done on the weight loss.

Cryalot2 · 13/11/2021 18:56

You have a beautiful figure.
Most women would love it.
There is no way you should consider yourself to be remotely overweight. You are perfect.

Bagelsandbrie · 13/11/2021 18:56

You have an amazing figure. You need to step away from the mirror and scales and find something else to think about. You need to see yourself as more than your body.

I was always a size 8-10 right up until I was late twenties and then I developed several autoimmune conditions which means I’ve piled on the pounds due to steroids - I’m now a size 16-18. I actually really don’t care about it. I mean I wouldn’t say no if I woke up tomorrow and was a size 10 again but on a daily basis it doesn’t really enter my head. I try and eat as healthily as I can, I walk lots. But my weight doesn’t change my life - I’m still me, I won’t stop or restrict myself eating what I enjoy. It’s very easy to lose perspective about it all.

Lizzyketo · 13/11/2021 19:02

Yes i think it is all about perspective and as another poster mentioned, it's hard sometimes when you loose weight to see the new you, but unfortunately the idea of loosing the scales scares me, probably as i don't want to end up back where i startedShock

Midge75 · 13/11/2021 19:19

Wow! Talk about hourglass - that is the perfect waist shape. I've never really had a waist, despite being fairly slim (ignoring the rounded belly post kids). My daughter is only 13 and has a much better waist shape than mine. I'm not too bothered about it though, despite having major confidence issues in other areas of my life! It's good you've realised you might need help to sort that out. You deserve to be confident in your body, especially when you look so great. x

HikingforScenery · 13/11/2021 19:23

Not sure what you mean by fat or no fat? How about using the body analysis scale?
As pp said, you’re well within the BMI healthy range.
Maybe do some toning if it’ll help you feel better but you look just fine to me.

I’m same height as you and recently lost about 1.5stone through IT to get within a healthy bmi of 24. I’m so pleased and proud of myself. DH thinks I’ve overdone it as my ass is not as big as before 🙄

dorothygaleandtoto · 13/11/2021 19:33

OP you look incredible! An amazing achievement to have lost so much weight too. With the timescale, it sounds like you've made really positive and permanent changes which is a fantastic way to keep the weight off in the long term. I can only hope I have the same willpower and perseverance as you when I've given birth at the end of this year - I'd love to shift this baby weight and look as fantastic as you do!

BadwordMcGee · 13/11/2021 19:36

If you are unhappy, I would really recommend the Joe wicks 90 day plan - it's brilliant for toning up and getting definition. I'm not saying you are fat, you are not, I'd love your figure! But the plan isn't actually for overweight people, just those who want to enjoy exercise.

Lizzyketo · 13/11/2021 19:38

Thanks all for your honesty and advice it was hard posting this, but i think this has made up my mind i need to talk to someone to change my mindset. I don't want to spend all my time obsessing not at all healthy but for me unavoidable Confused

OP posts:
Lizzyketo · 13/11/2021 19:39

Was actually thinking about joe wicks! Thanks I'll give that a go!

@Lizzyketo

You look fine, and well done on the weight loss.

Have to say though that your waist looks photo-shopped in that photo you have posted.

WakeUpLockie · 13/11/2021 19:50

God you would keel over in disgust if you saw me!! I would die for your bod! (But then I’d be dead so I’ll take the one I’ve got)

MacmillanMO · 13/11/2021 19:52

You have a gorgeous figure, OP. Don’t lose any more weight. Curves are great!

lifeinlimbo2020 · 13/11/2021 19:53

Omg. I wish I had that hourglass. Stunning. Even when I'm as slim as I ever have been I don't particularly have a waist.

Lizzyketo · 13/11/2021 19:55

It most certainly isn't! My waist is 28 inches, i think if i was so savy to be photoshopping i would hardly feel the need to post here with the issues i am having.

But why would you not still have the issues? Confused You photoshopping your pics would not change your real body. Are you saying if you were 'savvy' enough to change how you look on photos, (and could make your waist thinner on photos,) that you wouldn't have issues around how you look in real life??? How odd.
