Exh pays maintenance for Dd monthly. He calculated it and we don't go through csa. He's got a new job where his payday has changed from 10th to 30th of the month. So he paid me last on 10th Oct and has said he doesn't need to pay now until 30th Nov. So I have asked whether he will be paying 7 weeks worth as that's how long it is between payment dates. He says he doesn't have to because its still a monthly payment it's just on a different date.
AIBU to think he does need to pay the 7 weeks worth?

If he started his new job on the 10th October, then employer 2 should have paid a smaller amount on the 30th October for the days worked before 30/10 for the new employer.

If he started his new job after the 10th, then he should have had a smaller payment from the old employer due on the 10th November for the days worked after 10/10.

Ultimately, he's getting an extra payslip from somewhere for the missing weeks, so owes you as normal. He might even have a pleasant surprise from employer 1 if there is unused holiday accrued and added as pay to the final slip.

However (i) he might not have realised this depending on how clued in or otherwise he is and (ii) might have had some issues with bills this month if he's waiting for pay in arrears somehow.

He definitely owes you. Go back to him after the 10th November to see what employer 1 has paid him on that date.

All I know is that he's said he has nothing until the end of the month as I had asked if he could spare anything out of the next payment for now
