Colleague started coughing and sniffling halfway through the day but just sat there

This isn't a guy who has allergies or anything, it just came on all of a sudden.
I legged it after an hour or two of his random coughs and sniffles. AIBU here or should he have buggered off to WFH after the 3rd or 4th cough? Fun, the wait begins!

@Pumperthepumper because it was the law!

How would anyone know if you were exempt though?

Just so we’re clear, you wore them in shops but voted not to wear them at work? Despite spending much, much more of your day at work?

JesusIsAnyNameFree · 29/10/2021 21:43

@niugboo

What was the point of this post? You clearly think you’re completely right so why ask if you’re unreasonable if you’re just going to berate anyone who doesn’t bow to your nonsense.
Am I berating you by telling you you're not very pleasant yourself coming onto a thread with no actual views on the topic at hand but just to tell me how unpleasant you think I am? Grin

What an embarrassing post 😂 blatantly is just a common cold. Baffles me how people still get so worked up about Covid - get on with it!

Probably because of the organ failure and death.
niugboo · 29/10/2021 21:46

Oh I have views. But you don’t care what anyone’s views are so what’s the point in sharing them?

CustardCreamm · 29/10/2021 21:47

@Pumperthepumper people are also dying from lack of cancer treatment, heart attacks, the list goes on. Pointless response, bye bye 👋🏻

niugboo · 29/10/2021 21:48

@Pumperthepumper I didn’t go to work. You’re mixing me up with someone else. I’m just clarifying that the law was to wear them in shops. Pretending to be exempt when you aren’t is breaking the law.

People do generally take steps to avoid heart attacks and cancer though.

Well, by all means, do share. But your first point was very much just an attempt at joining in on the kicking people are trying to give me (and failing btw).

How? You didn’t have to be medically exempt, you could say you were anxious around wearing one. How would anyone know?

niugboo · 29/10/2021 21:50

@Pumperthepumper they wouldn’t know. But that isn’t the point.

And that's because people keep spreading covid, not because people are trying to stop the spread. Christ almighty, give me strength.

What is the point?

niugboo · 29/10/2021 21:52

My first point was stating the obvious.

People are finding you absurd because you literally came onto mumsnet to ask if you’re unreasonable and then declared you weren’t and then dismissed anyone who disagreed with you. Why bother posting?

I forgot what kind of people are on mumsnet tbh.

To be fair @JesusIsAnyNameFree - I agree with you but you are being a bit of a dick here.

LaurenKelsey · 29/10/2021 21:55

I agree with you, OP. I would be concerned about having this man around me.

niugboo · 29/10/2021 21:55

Yeah really you are the problem on this thread. Even down to people pointing out possible reasons for why he stayed there you berated them.

ufucoffee · 29/10/2021 21:57

@Pumperthepumper because we weren't allowed in shops without them. That's how we were forced to

LaurenKelsey · 29/10/2021 21:58

As far as MN goes, sometimes it’s hilarious (the thread about FBmarketplace) and other times it’s nasty.

I don't think I am in regards to this tbh. When it comes to a lot of things, mumsnet is great. But since day one people on mumsnet have been saying covid is nothing and when they started making us wear masks, they were taking away our human rights amongst other things. As I said earlier, it's concentrated batshittery on here. These are things I have not once heard IRL (except for a manager I mentioned upthread but he is well known for being a right dick), and I don't have a single family member or friend that doesn't still wear masks when in shops. Yet on mumsnet, wearing masks still is crazy and a clear indicator of health anxiety and needing serious help.
OP posts:
niugboo · 29/10/2021 22:07

@Pumperthepumper you’ve not understood the law. If you weren’t exempt from wearing a mask and chose not to wear one you were breaking the law. You could have been prosecuted if they didn’t believe you. Getting away with breaking the law doesn’t mean you didn’t break it.

JesusIsAnyNameFree · 29/10/2021 22:08

It's often to do with what responses came in to begin with. If it started with YABU, it tends to continue that way and the other way around. Pack mentality, really.
