Are you passionate about anything?

Feeling like I’m not passionate about anything.
Having coffee with a friend today and she was telling me gym is her everything and she’d be lost without it.
My other friend makes clothes - spends all her free time doing it and loves it.
Lots of my friends have very flashy jobs that they are passionate about.

I feel like im not passionate about anything.
I work part time - if im not are work I’m
Doing the school run and house work.
I read in bed. I feel that’s my life! I’m panicking a bit on how boring and very flat my life is.

What are your passions?
I don’t know what I want from this thread? Inspiration maybe?

Like a pp up thread I'm passionate about crossfit and when I'm not at 'the box' (crossfit gym) I'm canicross running with my dog. I am starting to think that I've put all my eggs in one basket with my hobbies (they are purely physically based) and that it would be good to have a hobby that isn't based on beasting myself! I'm looking into doing some volentary work too.

MrsCardone · 28/10/2021 08:15

I am passionate about:

  • Self-improvement books and podcasts.
  • Walking in nature (inner city park, but still).
  • The campaign against Palm Oil.
  • Women's single-sex spaces.

If I had time and money, I would be passionate about:

  • Salsa dancing.
  • Joining a book club.
  • Keeping myself looking nice by regularly going to the beauty salon.
  • Travelling to other countries.

Feminism and womens rights.

Making the world a better, safer place for future generations

Reading and encouraging children to read.

Iamanunsafebuilding · 28/10/2021 08:35

Exercise - running and Body Pump. I found my love for exercise In my 40's and want to be fit and strong as I get older. Crochet, my cro-jo is a bit absent at the minute but it'll come back!

AnnieSnap · 28/10/2021 10:18

Oh and I must add Feminism and Human rights!

Chanel05 · 28/10/2021 10:21

I'm a teacher - teaching early years children is my true passion. Sadly, I don't teach this year group (or even close) anymore.

Meceme · 28/10/2021 10:33

Feminism and women's rights. Ensuring that the world is a better and more equitable place for my daughter and her contemporaries.

@mofro we're obviously soul mates Wink

SheisMammyof2 · 28/10/2021 21:01

Interior design
Clothes
Sea swimming
Music
Running.. not necessarily in that order.

I'm passionate about being comfortable. Only wearing comfortable shoes/clothes. Sitting on the sofa with a blanket over me. Lying in bed with my duvet. Eating hearty comfort food. Seeing people I really like on a 1:1 basis to have comfortable conversations. You get the idea.
Love this. Hygge vibes. I’m the same. I’m currently under a blanket with a log fire and cocoa.
Shannith · 28/10/2021 21:03

Horses.

Animals generally.

Cooking.

Yoga.

Subscription marketing niche!)

daimbarsatemydogsbone · 28/10/2021 21:05

I am fucking passionate about stopping the ridiculous over use of the word passionate

Cottagepieandpeas · 28/10/2021 21:11

Social justice. My job is connected to it and a lot of my time outside work is spent on trying to achieve it (through organisations , not single handedly).

When I’ve tried to deny that side of my life over the years, it eventually makes me quite unhappy.

Shannith · 28/10/2021 21:13

And now I think about it - sensible rescue approaches (I foster dogs and cats) not a blanket you must basically live on a farm with no job and no children before you can rescue.

But horses, like @PricklesTheHedgehog and @Vivi0 I'm obsessed. I'm even worse in that I'm on holiday with DD and it's a riding holiday. So even my holidays am revolve around horses. I just love them.

Oh another one. Teaching dogs cast iron recall. Not letting them off lead until it's 100% in any situation (lunge line until then).

CaptainThe95thRifles · 28/10/2021 21:14

Horses, horses and more bloody horses. It's not so much a passion as an unhealthy addiction to mud, sweat and, at this time of year, unexpected hair in your bra Hmm

Megan2018 · 28/10/2021 21:16

Horses

Chickens

Mud. Mud and hair. Everywhere.
Mantlemoose · 28/10/2021 21:25

Animal welfare and being lazy.

Vivi0 · 28/10/2021 21:26

That sounds about right @Shannith !

BathshebaKnickerStickers · 28/10/2021 21:26

My 2 rescue westies. I’m passionate that they will know love and have the rest of their lives very different to their previous lives (1 was a puppy farm breeding bitch and the other was abused, kicked and physically abused).

I work in a school office - I am passionate about supporting the parents of children in our school so they always have someone they can trust and who knows them and their children in school and they never feel like “just another parent” and “just the quiet pupil”.

I am passionate about getting support and help for my 17 year old daughter who has just been diagnosed with ADHD and I’m passionate about her being able to do the university course she wants where she wants after being horribly failed during lockdown

CaptainThe95thRifles · 28/10/2021 21:28

Hold on, you folks have ... "holidays"? I thought they were mythical events, like the second coming or the King Kong scaling the Empire State building?!

FangsForTheMemory · 28/10/2021 21:29

Language. Correct spelling and punctuation. However, I am also very aware of regional variants, new developments in English and so on. Being in my 60s, I notice Americanisms that are now in common use in the UK ('gotten', for example).

Simonjt · 28/10/2021 21:29

Rugby, playing, coaching, watching, I would love to play fulltime again but the pay is crap.

Smilerjone · 28/10/2021 21:34

I love working, I get a real buzz everyday but the real passion is my dog. I would spend every moment with him, walking and enjoying seeing him having fun.

Wrenna · 28/10/2021 21:36

I’m passionate about my job, it’s non profit and involves getting new clothes, hygiene items and food to kids in our school system. I’m passionate about holidays, I love decorating & doing things to celebrate holidays. I’m passionate about crochet, I’m always making something. Yet I feel like I’m pretty boring too, it really doesn’t bother me though. When I had young kids though I was feeling pretty good if they were fed/loved/clean & if the house was semi presentable!
