Feeling like I’m not passionate about anything.
Having coffee with a friend today and she was telling me gym is her everything and she’d be lost without it.
My other friend makes clothes - spends all her free time doing it and loves it.
Lots of my friends have very flashy jobs that they are passionate about.

I feel like im not passionate about anything.
I work part time - if im not are work I’m
Doing the school run and house work.
I read in bed. I feel that’s my life! I’m panicking a bit on how boring and very flat my life is.

What are your passions?
I don’t know what I want from this thread? Inspiration maybe?

My dog.

Words. I’m a writer. I love, eat, breathe words. I’m always reading, always writing. I wouldn’t change it for anything.

VetOnCall · 27/10/2021 21:45

My job, dogs and gundog training, mountain climbing, trail running and CrossFit. Very similar to a PP, I can't imagine life without mountains and dogs! (Or CrossFit, I train 6/7 days a week so fair to say I'm obsessed).

yes
but I also get bored easily so I need constant stimulation and so I try something new, get bored, start something else or circle back to something old.

Right now I'm very passionate about learning Spanish, dancing and Lego.
I'm rewatching Money Heist in Spanish (English subtitles) and collecting reggeaton songs so I can learn by listening & singing too.
I'm still struggling with the speed but I can manage to sing Bailando all the way through with just a few mistakes. 😁

Also I'm buying a portable tap mat soon so I can get back to practicing tap dancing.
I'm still crocheting, knitting & sewing (huge passions) but not as consistently as I did 6m ago which when I injured my hand and had to completely stop all crafting for months.

I'm passionate about classical music and about making that music with others in groups. It makes me feel alive and excited. I found it hard to care about passions when I had small children but now they're grown up I can pursue them.

Disability rights and equality, and just disability in general. I spend most of my free time learning or writing about it, whether through books (non fiction/ academic, and analysing fiction through a disability studies lense), podcasts, instagram posts, articles, documentaries, etc.

@eeek88

My hobby is my passion but at times it’s almost too much to bear! I’m completely addicted. Miserable without it. Turn down loads of opportunities in favour of the hobby. If it’s not going well it affects my general well-being. It doesn’t make me interesting , in fact I tend not to discuss it as most people aren’t interested. I wouldn’t be without it though.
What’s your hobby- I’m very intrigued

Arguing Halloween Blush

As in debate, not a full on brawl with name calling etc. But proper discussion and debate with someone who isn't a complete fool. That is my absolute raison d'etre.

Liverpool FC

Letter writing
I also love going to work. I work in a charity shop, voluntarily but it is the most enjoyable, satisfying job I have ever done.

Jenster03 · 27/10/2021 22:37

What an interesting thread.
I often feel like I don't have any passions, either, apart from my job.
I would love to have more passions/hobbies but I get bored easily and as soon as I start something I tend to do it for a bit then stop, so I often don't see the point. It's one of the reasons I spend too much time on my work as I don't feel I have much else.

That and the fact I have a 2 year old. Enough said really.

AnnieSnap · 27/10/2021 22:39

I’m pretty passionate about politics and very passionate about animals/wildlife welfare. I suppose thinking about it, I’m also passionate about my own animals and my husband, who is a catch and my third! The first two didn’t deserve my passion.

Ibizafun · 27/10/2021 22:39

Animals and animal welfare. Not much else!

AnnieSnap · 27/10/2021 22:41

Ooh yes and as @RobertaFirmino (great handle) reminded me . . . .
I’m also passionate about Liverpool FC and books 🙂

JaceLancs · 27/10/2021 22:44

I’m passionate about my job
Don’t get me started on my DC!
Feminism - social issues - human rights are all part of my raison d’etre
I love travel and crafty hobbies but not sure they are strong enough to count as a passion

Haggisfish3 · 27/10/2021 22:45

My children, young people, feminism, being outside are my ‘I would die for’. Sewing, jigsaws, writing, meeting new people, eating, music are my ‘passions I spend lots of my free time doing’.

Snowdropsandbluebells · 27/10/2021 22:48

I have a meaningful job that I unskilled in all the time (do online courses etc)

I love homemaking and watching upcycling blogs and read magazines etc. My house is a my passion I suppose!

Also my dc

TammyTwoSwanson · 27/10/2021 22:48

God, so much. I wish I had time to read everything about everything I am obsessed with.
Photography, contemporary art, political causes like feminism, tackling inequality and rampant capitalism, psychology of stress, trauma and healing, biophilia effect, meditation (from a science point of view, not woo or religion), a lot of sociology and anthropology, psychoanalytics, philosophy, cybernetics, music, drumming, Buffy the vampire slayer, the real housewives of Beverly hills, women's fiction, sex stuff, not sure what it's called but anything that Esther Perel writes or does, or anything the Agnoski sisters write, interior design, wabi Sabi and eastern art and design, dogs.

I'm just interested in lots of stuff! Are you interested in anything op? It doesn't have to light a fire to start with, but if it's "your thing" you'll become more passionate the more you learn/practice whatever it is
