DD (she's 8) is not at school today, she has a bad cough and doctors have said keep her off and let her rest.

I have a hair appt at 11.00 and know that if I cancel I wont get another until well into the new year.

Would it be terrible if DD came with me and sat quiet and read a book?

No, take her with you! You'll be gone an hour or so and it won't do her any harm.

er, of course not. wrap her up snug, dose her with calpol or something afore you go, to keep her relatively comfy, equip with a bottle of kids olbas (yummy) and a pack of tissues, and the book you said, and away you go.
