Today, I stupidly asked for cash back at self service till in Asda and didn't pick it up. It was only £10 that I needed for something and could have been worse but I'm kicking myself!!

After I paid and didn't realise I had forgot the money I was queueing/waiting at customer services to pick up a parcel. Got in my car and thought shit, I forgot my money. Went back in. Not in the till I used, was hoping someone had handed it in and they hadn't... tbf if someone handed it in I would I have realised as I was waiting for parcel!

It's only £10. But money is so tight atm we had a lot of unexpected costs - car repairs, hiuse repairs as well as thinking shout dare I say it, Christmas. The thing I needed money for is now technically going to cost me £20.

I feel so crap. That could have been £10 extra for an afternoon out at the arcades with dc during half term. £10 for food.

I hate losing things. I ended up having a on ths attack on the way home. It's only £10 but every little helps atm!

Aibu to to think if you found money in the checkout, however little you would hand it in. J would.

Many years ago, I did the same. Thankfully a young lad ran after me with the money which I was grateful!

I'm just beating myself over something I can't change. Anxiety sucks!

Sadly many people are hard up and a ‘free’ tenner may be irresistible. They had no way of knowing you weren’t a careless wealthy person who wouldn’t notice a missing tenner. Dishonest as it is, maybe they took it because they needed it to feed or clothe their kids/pay a bill/heat their home. Or maybe they took it accidentally with their own change, eg put their shopping through and took their notes and yours without counting.

It’s a shame but not worth dwelling on. You made a mistake in a rush, and anyone passing or using the till could have taken your forgotten change.
